Not sure why they would give you sanitizer unless they are giving them to all workstations do to covid. Remind them that you can't catch psoriasis and it will not spread any dangerous germs to anyone else, also remind them that psoriasis can effect ones self esteem and mental health and behaving like that is not helpful.

Oh and don't forget to remind them that psoriasis is not prejudice and will go after anyone, so tell them to be careful as they could be next.

Yes you should have gone sooner and by now you may have been managing it, but you can't turn back time. You have started the ball rolling, so hopefully thing will speed up soon.

If you haven't already, sounds like you need to have a talk with your supervisor about what psoriasis is and what it is not.  Unless, like Fred mentioned they are wanting you to wipe things down due to covid, the sanitizer makes no sense.  Not sure what the laws are like where you are but being singled out for a medical condition here is a big no no.

Due to liver issues, I've cut way back on dairy.  Trying to eliminate it from my diet but that hasn't been easy.  I also like cream in my coffee so I've gone to a non dairy creamer.

Hang in there, not everyone is insensitive.  Uninformed, yes so instead of being embarrassed try to educate them when it's appropriate to do so.  I do know that it's difficult to not get embarrassed at times, but this isn't something you can help, not something you caused or anything of that nature so remind yourself of that and hopefully treatment will come soon and you can see much improvement.

It's a big no no too here in Canada

That being said, some employers are better than others like everywhere else.

I have been asked at work and educated people but was never ever singled out.  All were very understanding.

Even my staff were watching out for me and telling me to stop scratching (unconscious habit)

In addition to educating people,  you should definitely go to your supervisor or higher to discuss this Wintrman. This is not acceptable  Angry

Well, prior to this, there has been no protocol put in place for "cleaning". I try to scratch over the floor and away from anything dark in color as I think it looks gross and I feel embarrassed, almost like I am an addict hiding my problem. Embarrassing. Scratching isn't an unconscious habit, I think. I believe it's just the human brain working at it's best. You got an itch, then scratch it. What doesn't help is that I wear a dark navy blue uniform....all the better to see the flakes and to see what a slob I am. At least that's the way I feel. I spend a great deal of my day rubbing my shirt and pants, flicking off as much of this dry skin as I can. I can't escape until I get to see the derm and get the RX of MTX.

I AM the supervisor on site. I was handed the bottle, cloth and can of air by my Chief Warrant Officer.

Been considering switching to almond milk and the non dairy version of coffee mate, so it will help my psoriasis. I refuse to give up my cream in my coffee and I refuse to give up my ice cream either. I am on the hunt for sugar free ice cream. I already found the non dairy version. I just hope I can find them both in the same package.

I like frozen yogurt in place of ice cream. Yes, I know it's still a dairy product but I don't eat it often only a couple of times per year. Not sure it's any healthier but it sounds better. Smile

We do have a place that sells sugar free frozen yogurt. A little more gritty in texture but I will take it! Yayyyyy!

A thought occurred to me today. How would the side effect of MTX affect my diabetes. With vomiting and diarrhea wouldn't that present problems for my blood sugars?

Hi Wintrman
If you had vomiting and diarrhoea I guess there is more than a fair chance it would effect your blood sugar.
The bigger question is what type of diabetic are you?
If you are Type 2 on Metformin then I believe you can't do MTX.
I don't think insulin is a problem.

Either type and you need your bloods monitoring more closely to pick up on any liver damage that could come about from the MTX. As a diabetic it puts you at a higher risk.

It wasnt the vomiting and diarrhoea that got me, it was the vertigo that kicked in one day while I was 30 foot up in a Cherry Picker and didnt ho away that did it for me - that and my liver starting to grumble.
