Yes we are all different, don't worry about what could happen. If anything does happen they can soon stop your treatment and things will go back to normal., it's very very rare to get any lasting problems.

Give Methotrexate a try, if it fails or you can't get on with it, it makes it easier to move onto something else.  Wink

Thanks everybody for your answers! Thumb

Glad to hear some have no side effect at all, that give me more courage to start with Mtx, if i can't chance my Rheumatologist to start with a biologial. I will keep you posted on that subject.

Hi Yvon
I will echo what everybody else has said, but I did end up with a doozy of a chest infection while I was on MTX. I sort of could put it down to snorkeling, but I have never suffered in the past and I do snorkel a lot when the opportunity is there on holiday. It took two lots of antibiotics to clear the infection and I had to stop the MTX until I was clear.

It is impossible to predict in advance how I will react to Mtx, I am well aware of that and I will have to wait and see.
But I will take your advice into account in my treatment.

To be honest, I'm not that afraid to catch something through contact, I thought that was a perfect excuse to get out of it. Sometime i realy hate all that   Kiss

What I'm afraid of is getting an abscess like Turnedlight or getting bigger inflammations in my bodt that will end up in the hospital.

Sorry Yvon - I realise my post might have been alarming - what I meant by it is it’s just a case of being a bit more aware so for instance if you have to have something done like a root canal, it would be a good plan to discuss the methotrexate with the dentist.. I didn’t have any other infections whilst I was on it, I don’t think. So sorry to spook you, I didn’t mean to Blush
