Along with my regular psoriasis I now have sebopsoriasis around my nostrils and down the sides of my nose. It is so sore (obviously not helped by having to wear face masks - but not for much longer!), dry, itchy, unslightly. Dermatologist prescribed protopic but that’s not helped. Does anyone else suffer from this and has any tips on how to manage it? I’m really self conscious of it.

I have recently had occasional occurrences by my nose and have successfully use the steroid cream Eleuphrat (Betamethasone dipropionate) for short periods, which cleared it up quickly

I currently have psoriasis on the end of my nose but also up my nostril which is quite sore at times. I don’t think it’s sebopsoriasis is though, mine is just very dry and I manage it with moisturiser (though it doesn’t get rid if it.)
I’m sorry I don’t have any better advice but you have my sympathy..

Could be worth trying Coconut Oil or Vaseline.

*I will move this thread as it may not get noticed here so well as this section is about asking for help on using the forum.

Fred.

Thank you all for replying (& moving it to the correct spot - sorry about posting in wrong place!). I’m wondering if it’s actually perioral dermatitis. Anyway got some pure coconut oil to use so see how that goes. Have chased up the dermatologist to see if there’s any other suggestion. Life would be easier if appts with them are face to face rather than over the phone!

Moisturize with something soothing (coconut oil, facial moisturizer, etc) to help with dryness. I would probably contact the dermatologist and see if they could try something else. Sometimes what works for one doesn't work for another, one thing I have definitely found out regarding psoriasis!

Good luck, hope it gets better!

Shame about your nasal psoriasis. I hate getting it anywhere on my face as it is very difficult to hide. Hopefully moisturising will help
I hope you find a solution soon and manage to get it clear. I have to admit when I was younger and still working and knew nothing of the dangers of steroids I did used to apply a smearing of dermovate on, which always worked although I wouldn't recommend you used anything like that

i did use dermovate for a couple of days. - cleared it brilliantly but knew it was the wrong thing to do so stopped. Luckily we now don’t have to wear masks, that will help as I really suffered wearing one. I’ve just had a prescription come through from my dermatologist for Emmovate cream (think that’s what it says - trying to decipher his handwriting!). I’ve stopped using any facial products only coconut oil at night so hopefully with doing that and the new cream I might get a bit of success - well, hopefully a lot of success!!!
