A list of medications I have tried…
Tongue

Pills

Soriatane
Methotrexate
Cyclosporine
Otezla
Sotyktu
Icotrokinra

Biologics

Humira
Cimzia
Enbrel
Stelara
Trymfa
Skyrizi
Ilumya
Cosentyx
Taltz
Silq
Bimzelx

The medications left…

Cyclosporine - I would rather die.
Sotoktu - Low on the priority list.
Icotrokinra - It’s an IL23. No thanks
Ilumya - It’s an IL23. No thanks
Silq - It’s not approved for arthritis. No thanks.
Bimzelx - High on the priority list.

My rheumy basically said she could do nothing more for me unless I’m willing to consider sulfasalazine but I don’t like the look of the side effects of that so I guess I won’t be going back - is that one you’ve come across?

You did not try the fumarates.
But probably not available at your location.

Remains strange.

It’s like taking aspirin without the pain relief. If you have any side effects of aspirin you’ll probably have the same with sulfasalazine.

It’s not an option… most doctors never heard of it.

It’s not approved in the US for psoriasis. It would be off label treatment and not covered by insurance. Also, I would have convince a doctor to assume that legal risk. The only way to use DMF here would be Bills way.

This time I think I will be less demanding and hopefully not destroy my relationship with my doctor. The only medications I’m crossing off the list are steroids and IL23s. I am guessing I’ll have to wait and see if they pull my medication history and hope they won’t care about the depression but if they do I will have to figure out an alternative medication - I think that’s where I’ll put my foot down in regards to the Taltz. Not sure what else is worth taking.
