I used Dovonex when it first came out and omg I was in agony the itching was unbearable. Had Diprosalic, dithranol in lassars paste all strengths, methatrexate, and the only thing I used which cleared my skin within a week was Psorigan and as it was only cosmetically approved and not medically approved it was taken off the market. I wish I had bought loads of it at the time. Also had PUVA and ultra violet and at moment using a solution of coal tar and aqueous solution.

I have been using pine tar soap available on amazon and pine tar shampoo as a body wash and seem to be working so far.

Hi,

I can't use coal tar as I am allergic to it... apparently PPD (found in hair dyes) is derived from coal tar and while I was in hospital having coal tar treatment a few years ago I had a horrendous reaction to the stuff. My Drs. never mentioned that I could have a problem with it because of my PPD allergy (I can't use hair dye at all as my head swells up and weeps horribly).

Even after that reaction in hospital they still prescribed cocoise (spp) for my scalp which made my scalp blister and burn. I can't even use T-gel shampoo any more. Instead I use warmed olive oil once a week and rub it into my scalp and use a jelly wash from lush for my hair (it has seaweed agar in it which soothes the scalp wonderfully).

Krissie
