Excellent opening to your journey Kaminari. Acitretin is weird stuff, there is no specific dose to it so there is generally a bit of experimentation until the correct dose is found. 10mg is quite low, I started off on 25mg ramped up to 30mg where it showed better efficacy but I have now come back down to 25mg. Generics don't make any difference over here in the UK, cost wise, unless you are in a specific group like a pensioner we all pay a fixed fee per item. There are however prepayment  cards that considerably reduce the outlay if like me you have several items a month to buy. It would be interesting to see if there are any differences you may be able to detect between Neotigason and a generic.

Hi and welcome to the forum, just to say that it's great to get you on the forum.
We are a great lot of inmates with a vast amount of accumulated knowledge on P and PsA so any question you ask will be answered by people who know what it's like to have P and PsA and will tell it like it is.
What you will find is that we are all different and what works for one does not necessarily work for someone else and it's the same with individual tolerance of different treatments .
I have used the treatment that you are using and for me it was not fantastic, I had problem with ingrowing nails.
Have a good look around .

Treatment: Dovobet + Neotigason

So today marks 15 days on Dovobet and 8 days on Neotigason.

Dovobet so far has worked like a charm on the larger patches on my arms, legs and chest. I would say they are 95% gone. Some patches are still reddish and I am still working on those. I still apply the product very carefully to patches that are almost completely clear just to avoid resurgence. I have seen I have two large patches on my knees, one for each knee, and those are still quite active. I guess it's because with all the friction against the clothes it is difficult to maintain the same efficacy compared to other parts of the body where there is less friction. Overall I am very happy to see that the stuff works and is very effective on big patches.

Seems all good however it is not quite effective on small patches (the drops of the guttate p). I have a few small patches on my left hand and it's not working at all. It's also basically impossible for me to apply the product effectively on the patches on my back. What I do is I put one drop of product on my finger and gently rub the patches that I can reach. I might ask my partner to apply the product for me on the back but to tell you the truth she is so tired before going to bed due to her caring for the baby all day long that I just try and do it myself without bothering her.

Neotigason, I guess it's way too early to say something at all about it. I understand it's not working yet because I have some new patches now (and in some pretty annoying spots too, like just beneath the hairline and eyebrows). New tiny drops have appeared on the palms of my hands which is something I have not seen in many many years. Is this some side effect that the p gets a boost during the first days on the drug?

Well, let's see how things go in the next few days, bring it on  Cool

Thanks for the update,  Thumb makes interesting reading. I have heard others say that their Psoriasis gets worse at the start of Acitretin but hopefully it will start to clear soon
Good luck  Thumb

At least you have a positive attitude that helps a lot.

Re your back it may be worth asking for Enstilar. I've not used it myself but some of our members have got on with it very well, and as far as I know it's pretty much the same stuff as Dovobet (Though more expensive) it may help you apply it to your back as it's a spray.

Cool, thank you. First time I hear about this new product. I see that sale in Italy was authorized in Sept. 2016 and I can't find much information. Apparently it's not being sold yet. They sell it in Switzerland for a whopping 75 CHF (€ 70). I'll talk to the doctor and see if I can find out more.

Matari has a thread about it Enstilar and he said it was $1000.00 USD Ouch! But on prescription the cost would be lower.
