I am thinking of combining DMF with the senolytic quercetin as there is the suggestion that the accumulation of senescent cells can predispose to disease. I believe that this approach might enhance the effects of DMF.

Cheers,

Makes a lot of sense, one of the bits of kit we work on is to treat cancer patients which works by killing off old white blood cells which then encourages the marrow to produce new ones which presumably are more effective than the old tired out ones.

Hey Alan, you've inspired me to go all out and finally do the diet. This type of diet works for me as well but I never stay 100% committed.   I see that there are no grains on your vegetable list. Have these been proven by you to aggravate your symptoms? How about brown rice in particular? The brown rice seems to help my symptoms but I'm on the fence about this.  Magenisum Citrate helps my symptoms, and I believe the high content of magensium in the rice is what actually helps specifically, as I know that magnesium supplements help me but not a cure. Im wondering if the rice can help the rash, but at the same time aggravate the rash being that it is high in carbs and a grain...

I know lot of talk about rice, but its an ideal quick food for this type of diet... cheap, doesn't spoil, keeps you full, gluten free.

Hi jiminem, at my worst any carbs had an effect, rice less so because no gluten in there to further aggravate things, but I generally avoided. All I'd suggest is see how you go with small amounts maybe. If you decide to go all out and give it a go please let me know how you get on! Good luck, and I look forward to any updates in the future.

Hi Alan,

It seems you are quite right about the anti-mycotic effects of DMF on the gut. The article is titled "Dimethyl fumarate reduces the risk of mycotoxins via improving intestinal barrier and microbiota".

Well done! Thumb

Bill

Hi Bill

Thanks for the information, I'll try to find it and have a read. Hope you're doing well. My skin is still clear, even following a rather indulgent all inclusive holiday two weeks ago.

That's an interesting paper Bill, along with the antifungal action it mentions improved gut permeability which also chimes with my thinking about leaky gut. Very nice find on your part Clap .

No worries, Alan. I had a big chuckle when I saw the article and thought of your ideas, so I had to bring it to your attention. Stay well and revel in your successful treatment.

Cheers,

Bill
