Hi Wooley how are the feet? Are you still on PUVA?

How did the dermatologist meeting go ... I'm sure you mentioned it somewhere and I missed it

Are you getting a systemic drug or are you being left to suffer Confused

Hi Jim, yes still on PUVA!!  I think until around 13th October, I think that's my last one but not 100%.....  Yes it has improved my hands and feet, I think?  But that could be a number of things, dermovate (sp), PUVA, acitretin or a combination of all three.....  Still have days when it feels like i am walking on broken glass but overall an improvement... I will put some before and after pics up eventually, when I get chance!

Saw the dermatologist and they have put me on acitretin (10mg) for now.......no side effects, which is great but they are going to see how it goes and maybe put it up to 20mg at some point in the future if no improvement on 10mg.  I guess the test of time will tell once PUVA stops and see what happens after that.....

Thanks for asking Jim.....

Haha ok maybe not so hard then.......  Whistle Yes fingers firmly crossed for sure.....so pleased how my hands are looking, so hoping the combination of everything will keep them that way.......I know my feet are always going to be difficult to treat, due to the nature of the skin on them but I am getting some much needed relief at the moment..... I think it's more likely to be the PUVA that's helping at the moment . From what I've seen Acitretin takes several weeks to kick in. I think it's good they started you low, I'm beginning to think this is the best approach as it gives your body time to adjust to the stuff. But unless you are 3 stone wet through, I wouldn't hold much hope out of it having too much effect. I'm on 10mg at the moment and it's doing diddly, but I also don't have any side effects. It is a weight dependant/ efficacy drug.
Hopefully in time it will let you get your boots back on  Thumb
