Oh Tanlou
What a shame I had high hopes for you, is it the itching you spoke about or the stomach cramps.
I hope he puts you on something easier to cope with. That's the trouble with medication unfortunately it's not a one fits all situation, has he suggested anything else or are you going with an open mind.... Psssst try not to go with methotrexate unless you have to
I wish you much luck, I had hoped the yogurt trick of Carolines may have done the trick
Keep us informed of whatever your new treatment is.
This thread may still help others who suffer the same side effects as you
Best wishes
Jim

Just read back your posts you have done the methotrexate already so shouldn't be offered that again
Stelara is a good biological Fred has been on it for a long time and swears by it, unfortunately he is without the internet at the moment and can't answer himself.

Hi tanlou,

Sorry to see you in the wars with the side effects. I had horrible side effects for several months, including severe headaches. I would often skip doses because of them. My side effects now are an upset tummy and an occasional flush, with both resolving after a few hours. I also hate taking my medicine, but I think that this reaction is psychosomatic. I would also repeat Caroline's point that there are other formulations. Fumaderm is a mixture of fumaric acid esters. All of them will give you side effects, but only DMF will act on your disease.

Best wishes,

Bill

Bill is right Tanlou,

There is a possibility that the side effects come from the other mixed things in Fumaderm.
You might try to order Psorinovo in the Netherlands, which does not contain these extra compounds but only contains DMF.

Caroline.

Doc is running a load of tests to see what is going wrong - he has stopped all medication for now - had a chest x ray this morning and have to go to durha hospital tomorrow to have a million blood tests and some micro biology tests - he is going to see if I can have something called Adalimumab - it comes in injection form but has loads of side effects - I have just got home and am about to read the information about it

Adalimumab ( Humira) is a tried and tested drug and several on here have had it and got good results. There have been some not so good side effects just put Humira an the search at the top of page and there will be loads to read
Meantime look at these if you wish
Abbott will present compelling data for Humira at ACR meeting

Fingers crossed for you as I said above read the three links above and then go to the search button and put in humira. You will get more results on that as it is what it is better known as...
Good luck and thanks for keeping us informed
