Wow! Every minute of every day is consumed with my new diagnoses and my wife's deteriorating condition. She went to bed earlier than me (7ish) and hasn't been outta bed since. She feels so hopeless and lost because the doc didn't consider a pain management clinic for her, when he didn't even bat an eye at sending me to one. And yes, I do believe her pain is much more than mine. So today, I will talk to our doctor and find out why. From there I will have to decide if we need to switch doctors. Been with this one since 2003, so it's not a decision I will make lightly.

Anyways, toodles for now!

Good luck finding a new GP Wintrman.

I see that it is lacking quite some empathy with your current doctor for the problems of your wife.

Is it possible to find a friend, who perhaps can join you and support the arguments which make it necessary to act on behalf of your wife?
Just freely thinking… as the GP has made an Oath, the oath of Hippocrates, in which he promises to do the best for his patients.. you might point him to that.

Maybe talking to your doctor will offer some clarity as to why he refused to send your wife for a pain management clinic. Perhaps there is a reason.

If not then good luck on your search for a new doctor. It can be difficult to change after being with one for so long, but you do what you feel is right.

Hope your talk goes well!  Starting off with a new GP might not be easy.

Did she try dilaudid?

How about cortisone injections?  Don't know if that's an option

Dealing with constant pain is not easy but some days are better than others!  Focus on the positives

You will need that sharps container if you are prescribed a biologic!

IF and when that happens. I am not trying to anticipate too much. I for one am not looking forward to the side effects of MTX and my metformin.  But yes, if I get the opportunity for a biologic, then I will be ready.

So...3 days in to my (near) zero gluten diet and I hit a bump. I am testing my blood sugars and they are always high. 10+ high and this afternoon 14+. Panicking I call in to the provincial health line and they refer me to a dietician. Dietician told me to forget the intermittent fasting diet. Worst thing EVER for a diabetic. And he tells me I need to bring back some gluten. So much for all the hard work I have done. Now, I am just looking forward to help with the psoriasis and the diabetes education class I am supposed to go to.

Some years ago, I was taking a weightloss pill. Worked wonders. Then something else happened and I was given a new prescription. I gave it to my pharmacist. A few mins later the pharmacist calls me over. She proceeds to tell me that if I had taken the weight loss pill and this new med, I probably would been dead in 48 hours from a brain aneurysm and a stroke. I am almost wondering if I need a new doctor.

Sometimes it's worth changing as a new doctor will not only get your notes, but may also want to run some checks of their own.

New broom sweeps clean.

Don't know how the health system is in Manitoba but here in Quebec, there's not enough doctors so switching is impossible.  I am lucky to have a GP......

It's not much better here in Manitoba. There is a new doc in town so hopefully I can get in to see him.

Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting and still waiting. No response from either one of the derms I have been referred to. It's so frustrating. In the meantime, taking antihistamines  to calm the itch. I so hate this waiting game.

So yesterday, I was approached at work. Citing health standards, I was given a spray bottle of santizer and a cloth and "asked" to wipe down my workstation. I was also given a can of air to spray down the keyboard. I was raging mad. I felt about an inch tall. I almost quit on the spot. Soooo embarrassed to be singled out yet again, at work. Mad at this freakin disease. Mad at the medical system for being so slow. Mad at myself for waiting so long to get the psoriasis treated. Just mad. I get out to my car and slam the steering wheel repeatedly (like that does any bloody good), and screamed at  the top of my lungs and then cried. Cried all the way home.

I pulled my shit together and went  into the house, waiting for a contractor to come do an estimate for some renos. It is still bothering me again today as I look at the cleaning bottle and rag sitting in plain site. I feel sooooo awful. It's like the 4th or 5th time this has happened to me and it doesn't get any better as time goes on. I mean, the flaking is BAD. The inflammation is has gone down quite a bit though. My stomach inflammation has gone down by about 40%. Still red  there with scaling, but no bleeding from the abdomen. The rest of the body has improved as well because of the elimination of gluten and greatly reducing dairy. I refuse to give up my yogurt though and cream in my coffee.  I guess, what I am saying here is that it's gone way down now, compared to what it used to be but still bad enough to have a specialist address it. Heck, the damn psoriasis hasn't had the decency to leave my private parts alone. I am at my wits end. I feel like I am going to blow up at someone or something.
