Alan,

Thanks for your post. New member here as I’ve only just seen this forum, following a resurgence of the enemy we call psoriasis.

Back around the same time as your first post in 2016, I was at my worst with my psoriasis; covering practically 80% of my body. I saw a YouTube video of someone suggesting the Candida diet and after taking on this mammoth task of redefining my diet for about 7/8 months, I was 100% clear. Was the best thing I ever done as like what you and others in this thread, steroid creams were damaging my skin in a whole different way, so seeing this change was an absolute game changer. I’ve spread the word to many people over the years following this.

Unfortunately after about 2 years of poor dieting again and the odd few too many pints of the sweet amber nectar, the psoriasis has made an appearance again; shaped as what looks like the map of Europe over my back and shoulders. Perhaps some Caribbean islands dotted around other parts of my body too. So if I wasn’t completely certain my diet was ever the issue (which was never the case anyway), then I certainly have concrete proof now.

I’m just writing this because, whilst I haven’t read every post and neither am I sure if any other responder has had success with their psoriasis through changing their diet in this way, then I’d like to say that those who are struggling, give this a go. Despite the slight disappointment I have for its reemergence, I know what I need to do to turn it around; something I didn’t feel whenever it did return after rounds of steroid creams. Good luck everyone.

Hi Ajit,

Welcome to psoriasisclub.

Sounds like you have achieved very good results with you diet. Too bad that it is back for a little, what is your plan now?

Myself I also have good results changing my diet, but not as heavy as you have done.

Have fun over here at psoriasisclub.

Cheers,
Caroline.

Hi Ajit

Good to hear your story, as you say you seem to have had the same experience as me with this lovely gift we call Psoriasis!

I've not had any reoccurrence of it thank goodness, even though I've re-partaken of the liquid bread we call beer for many years now!

If I do have a re-occurrence then Ill be doing the same as before, like you're doing, zero carbs and meat with green veg.

Good luck my friend!

Alan

Hi AjitAtwal,

Thanks for posting and reconfirming that curing psoriasis is possible through diet. Godspeed to you, I'm sure you'll be psoriasis free once again!

I've been following our dear friend Alan's diet plan (thank you for that, Alan) and I have surely witnessed great improvements but there's still some flareups here and there.
Except of certain foods which are native to western continent, I've been consuming rest of the vegetarian diet that Alan recommends. I've realized what a craving I have for sweets, it is no less than an addiction. but, I do my best to stay away. It's difficult to keep wheat flour out of my diet as I'm from north India and assuming you are Indian as well (given your name). I would like to know the diet plan you followed for the said period of 7/8 months? Also, any information on Nightshade fruits and what was there response if you added them to your diet?

It would be a great help!

thanks

Hi RJ

Really glad to hear you've had success. I agree, sweet things can be difficult to stop. All I would say is that once my symptoms disappeared, I was able to start eating sugar again, hopefully you will find this too!

Alan
