Cheers,

But Bill, did you know that Biogen is trying to patent the production process?

I do, Caroline, and I will find the information in their patent application very useful when I set up my drug lab. Seriously though, the patent is aimed at pharmaceutical competitors and will have no impact on industrial production, especially in China.

Cheers,

Bill

No.... the creation of DMF, not the putting into tablets Doh, That's prior art....

DMF is already being made on an industrial scale in China and I cannot see them taking the slightest notice of Biogen's patent application. I did price the production of a kilo of DMF from Biogen's process description for under $400. This included the raw materials and production equipment. The second kilo would cost about $100. I still have over five years supply so I am in no hurry.

Cheers,

Bill

Bill how do you store it ?

I guess you have to keep it dry, but wondered if there is any other storage problems.

Oops sorry we're taking this thread off topic. Bill maybe you could explain storage in your thread Bill's pure dimethylfumarate thread

Hi Fred,

DMF is biocidal but evaporates, albeit very slowly. Store it in an airtight container. I will update soon.

Cheers,

Bill

ccarr06;

I was a +30 year sufferer, having had all the steroid treatments over the years, since topicals were kind of like closing the barn door after the horse was gone; oral treatments were the only medications that showed any signs of control. Methotrexate was one which I took for several years but without any success. in 2007 I heard about Fumaderm and began the regimen of the Initial and step-up dosage, stepping down when I noticed some progressive clearing. I am totally lesion-free taking one 120 mg Fumaderm per day for the last 3 years. I am afraid to try going without since I fear a relapse, so quite content to do the maintenance dosage.

Good luck with the Fumaderm.

Hey guys,

I just thought I'd update just in case anyone was interested. I went back to the dermatology clinic last week, where I spoke with a new dermatologist (who, frankly, explained everything far better than the last dermatologist I went to). I wished I had seen her first, since she explained that I can drink alcohol on fumaderm (though she did advise moderation), and that I'll be able to adjust the dosage myself should I find the side effects tough. I now have a prescription for Fumaderm, which I'll begin in January (she recommended me to do so, since the rich food over the holidays might make the possible side effects worse).

While it'll certainly dent my bank account, I'm looking forward to the possibility of having clear (or clearer) skin.

Thanks everyone for your advice Smile
