Someone told me Enbrel is made from protein from the ovaries of a Chinese hamster.No matter what we buy seems to be made in China.Can't we use made in America?

I don't think it's actually made in China, but here you go a little bit of reading for you:

Thanks Fred I appreciate the information about Enbrel.I was speaking in terms of why a Chinese hamster whats the difference between American and Chinese.I guess I am just running my mouth.I am so fed up with Made in China.I try and buy made in the USA to keep our people in America have jobs.

Me too Glenda. I was in a study for Remicade a long time ago. I got a little improvement but not enough to help. I've tried Humira, Enbrel, Stelara. Usually only one symptom is fixed with biologics for me. Having both so severely, I cant decide which is worse. I think Id rather deal with the excruciating pain, rather than the skin condition! I was recently in a study for Brodalumab Cleared my skin within a couple weeks and for over a year. . Its midway thru Phase III, which means another two years of study before it goes to FDA! It was a miracle for me, but things happened and I'm no longer in the study. Im back on Enbrel which virtually cures the pain! Ive taken Enbrel for close to ten years for PsA, and then dealt with other drugs for psoriasis. Right now, Im going to the tanning salon right now and finally getting some minor results with my skin. Shhh, don't tell my derm; she will have a fit! Winter is the worst for this!!!

Dear Crazylady,I think the tanning beds help and I'll never tell.I go to them also but don't stay in them for long usually 8 min.my dermatologist would have a fit.I haven't been to the tanning lately but plan on getting back.Our weather has been so bad I don't feel like going out most days but i must go.I pay every month at Planet Fitness so I better get my money's worth.I have a hand held UVB lamp I bought that I need to use more.I use it all over and has an attachment for my scalp that would help dry up the plaque.I have to get on the ball and take care of myself.I have all the tools I need a spanking for being so lazy.I will put my lamp in the bathroom so I will see it and use.Take care and you are not the only Crazylady.

I am in the mist of deciding on a bio that could open my fingers due to P a. & Dupreytrends contracture. It's on both hands & THR right hand of course the one I use is curled up and frozen a bio drug called Xiaflex is made from a bacteria in soil & from feces. It's a injection in the tendons of the hands that r thick causing the fingers to retract.  It will also help the P a. & with a hand splint and PT it could give my hands back .

It's is approved by the FDA  and has a lot of side effects. The risk is there as with everything. I am hoping to hear from someone else who has either used it or familiar with it.

It's new and only a few surgeons have had training and experience. I will try it . I would like to be able to use my hands again. I will find a surgeon who has done enough injections using this bacterial bio not simply trained. It's how many they have done and the experience that's important .

From what I have read about the drug it's a toss of the dice if it works. Like I know from experience that doing the research and interview the docs I am hoping to gather enough info
To be confident in my decision to go forword with the injections in four fingers. And stop the Pa from causing any more damage to my joints.
