My psoriasis feels less aggressive but hasn't really cleared any. Here's hoping.

Stay with it pingu, keep the faith that it will work ...... I have high hopes for you Thumb

On the subject of medication, I believe Asprin is quite a big interaction with MTX as well.

I think it took mine about a month or so to notice an improvement. I had severe plaque psoriasis, and it completely cleared it all up, it's the only medication thats ever done it for me!

It was very good for me and I was reluctant to stop taking it because it worked so well. But I just couldn't handle the nausea and feeling generally unwell.
It was the only thing to give me clear skin .... But now fumaderm does the same job I'm clear and almost no side effects Thumb

Thats about the time scale I am hoping to see results really about 4 weeks. Its only 2 weeks since my first dose, although the severity is less that may be part of the cycle. That said the areas where it felt really bad around my ankle and forearms do seem to be improving. My GF says it looks better but when you are looking at it everyday its just seems the same.

Perhaps I should have taken picture but as psoriasis sufferers we all know how that feels.

I found pictures a big encouragement for me, it feels so good to look back and see an improvement.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to update. I'm on week 2 of MTX and I've experienced zero side effects with it. I can say that I'm noticing a difference in my plaques. They are flatter (I don't really know any other way to describe it). Some of mine almost had a wart-like feel and appearance to them. Those areas are now flattened but have not completely disappeared. I can't say that any of my areas have disappeared completely, but it's just week two. I'm very happy with the progress so far, and I'm very excited that I haven't experienced any of the potential side effects. I do increase my dosage next week. Fingers crossed. Smile

Hi Annieg,

Very good to hear from you that you have no side effects. Again this proves how different it can be between people, as I myself could not cope with the side effects.

Please make sure that your blood checkups are done regularly. And my advice, ask for them yourself and register them yourself in a spreadsheet.

Cheers,
Caroline

Good news Annieg the flattening of the plaques is a sign that it is starting to work, and as you're not experiencing any side effects it doesn't get much better than that. Thumb

Yes it will take time, but you're on the right track.

Thats kind of where I am at also annie.

The plaques are less agressive, non have disappeared but certainly less aggressive and I am not applying my usual lotions and potions so would normally look like a snowman in a blizzard.

Tonight I have my 4th dose, 15mg. I am reasonably happy that I haven't had side effect, its less aggressive etc. I would like to see it fading back a little more over the next week or so.
