I reckon there will be a cure or at least a prevention one day, after all, there are people who have normal skin - 'all' we have to do is find out how to stop the thing which is happening differently in people with P and how to make our skin behave like theirs. (As you can tell, I'm very scientific Tongue )

Just love the scientific description Turnedlight, and I'm sure you are right, things are moving very fast in science and genetics so I'm sure one day psoriasis will be controllable, hopefully at a reasonable price  Thumb

My legs which were the worst look pretty good without any moisturizer, slight discoloration on my legs but nothing that prevents me from wearing shorts

My arms and elbows are 99% clear, now looks just like a little bit of dry skin with no discoloration.  This stuff so far is pretty impressive.  The big challenge comes now that the loading doses are done lets see where I am in 2 weeks and then again in 4 weeks.

HI there Plaque32092!!   How is your progress on the Cosentyx??  Hope all is well!!!

I too have been on Cosentyx.   It took forever to get the insurance company to pre-approve it.  My 5th weekly injection was April 24, and I will be on the 300mg maintenance now every 4 weeks.  As 32092 wrote, the drug is as advertised.  It works.....
I had been on Enbrel for several years, but having developed Stage 4 melanoma last April, I had to avoid live biologics, and Cosentyx is safer to use.
I truly hope some of you will have similar success as 32092 and I have had. The worst issue I had was the getting ready to self inject double 150mg pens once per week, and after Enbrel, that was easy.  Absolutely no side effects and no regrets.
I hope this blog will go away really soon when each of us, and all new sufferers finally get the cure we have waited for so many years becomes a reality.
Thank each of you for your support to me, 32092 and everyone who visits.. Clap  Clap  Heart  Heart

Just an update to my story. I have had 2 more rounds (4 injections) since my last post and all is going well! Still pretty clear, very happy with the results so far. My liver enzymes are up but they have always been higher than normal so nothing really concerning there at this time, so far so good!

My cosentyx journey continues. While the drug works well the Biologics Pharmacy that ships for Novartis is extremely difficult to deal with. Today I am still 95% + clear which is pretty awesome considering I had severe psoriasis.

Each month I must call the delivery coordinator to get my drug on time, if not they have missed the delivery date a few times by a couple of days. Today, I should have come home to find Cosenytx at front door, prior to leaving for a business trip, however it was shipped today and will be here tomorrow. I don't think they have gotten the shipment right since after the first month, but I kept going back because of the great results!

Hi Plaque good to see you back I'm glad the cosentyx is working so well for you 95% clearance is brilliant, I'm sure that you have had a great summer, without embarrassment.
What a shame your pharmacy can't get their act together, perhaps as time goes on they will get the hang of getting your delivery on time Doh

It has been a while since I have last posted anything, so sorry life got in the way for a bit. I have now been on Cosentyx for 2 years now, I think, and it has been an amazing adventure. I have been clear for almost 2 years with exception of my scalp, very minor, and some other one off spots and when I say spots I mean the size of pen tip. The pen tip spots have just started in the last few months but otherwise nothing. I wish I could load pictures of my pre and post Cosentyx experience, it has been amazing! Finally wearing shorts without having to deal with the heartbreak of psoriasis, especially living in Florida shorts are necessary. We have take numerous cruises, hikes and other outdoor adventures. It has been liberating!

Good to hear it's still doing well after two years. I've been on it just over a year and it's fantastic for psoriatic arthritis, but unfortunately it's not doing so well for me with the psoriasis. So I'm now trying 3 weeks between doses as opposed to 4.

As for putting images in your post, this thread will help: [Group Specific]

Long may Cosentyx keep working for you. Thumb
