Congratulations on the new addition to your family!!!

Acitretin does seem to take awhile to work. I know I was thinking it wasn't working for me as I kept looking for signs of clearing and it just didn't seem to happen. I wouldn't despair quite yet, I think it was around 6 weeks for me but once it started to clear it went fairly quickly from that point on.

I had Ulnar Nerve entrapment in both my elbows. You really start understanding how important movement is with your joints once you have joint problems. Hope your doctor can get you some relief soon!

An update??

On Thursday last I still had not received an appointment to see the derm and I was concerned that I was running out of meds and holidays were looming which gave a good chance of missing the letter or having to cancel and have another wait! So I took charge!!???

I rang the secretary and explained the problem. She rang back with an appointment for today. I then rang the phlebotomy department and arranged s blood test for Friday morning!

So all that has now taken place. Good news coming up! The meds are starting to work; side effects minimal; bloods normal!! Hurrah! And I now have repeat prescription which means that even if next appointment is delayed the meds won't be!!!

My other half has also had good news on the health front and although currently in bed with migraine because he has overworked immensely this weekend and not put enough food in to balance it out (and still thinks he is 28!!!) we finally feel like we have a bit more control! Yay! ( how long for is smother matter of course lol)

So thank you kind people for all your support over the past few weeks. I doubt very much if I would have gone for medication without all your knowledge. It is greatly appreciated!!

You're very welcome, and it's great to get feedback. But remember none of us are professionals, we are just people like you sharing information and support.

You are now a member of Psoriasis Club and your input is as valuable as any other members, so we and others need you as much as you needed us.

Oh and I also went and had a cortisone injection in Thursday too! OMG! The pain! And I am certainly no wimp. But the good news is that is also now improving! Fingers crossed! As you can see it's been one helluva week!

Thank god we are going away this coming weekend! ????

It is great to find people who have the same or similar problems to talk things through with. People you are close to can empathise, support and look after you when needed but they don't and can't know how it actually feels! That, I think, is the most important thing. ?

Hi Jim
I thought I had replied to your message but clearly not! Sorry.
I know I've not been on here for a while just been a tad manic.
I am still on my meds. It has been a battle still to get them in time and had massive flare up when the appointment with the specialist didn't coincide and I ran out. Was very angry with them and told them so. Since then I have still had to battle and get prescriptions done by other doctors to tide me over. Surely it shouldn't be this hard???!! Anyway I went back to see the head honcho a couple of weeks ago. He was not happy at all with the fact that I had been having problems with it all and dictated a letter there and then to say that the meds should be on repeat!! Hallelujah! He also wasn't happy that it was still active and has increased the dose to 20 mg per day. I am supposed to see him in 3 weeks following that appointment and ..... Yep you guessed it! No appointment has arrived as yet with 1 week to go! Hey ho. The psoriasis is a lot clearer though despite all that and hopefully will now be even better. Side effects are not great but will see how it goes.

Thanks for asking!

How are things with you?
