Hi all.
I have P since I was in high school talk about a crappy time to get that. Struggled forever. I remember taking Skin Cap spray (international) work do good. Flaunted my short shorts Smile

They took that off market so back to light treatment. Pure pain and hell.

Been on Embrel for several years decided to try something new in Humira. Insert gigantic regret here. About a little over a month in and I'm miserable. It's all back. Went from about 20% to 75%.

Anyway first time ever really being open about it  so thanks for creating the forum. Glad to be here.

Hello Cayde,

Welcome to the forum.
Indeed a crappy time to get in your school time. I guess you came through whatever, we P-sufferers are a tough bunch.
You can feel at home at this forum. It is the nicest forum I have ever found on the Internet. Really every one is ok, some even think they are sensible.   Tongue

Besides Humira, more and more treatments are finding their way to the patients. Of Humira we have heard already more disappointments, so that is a treatment that certainly not is usable for everyone.
In your case perhaps you might talk with your derm about Acetretin. There are several over here who have used that with good results.
If you want to stay with biologicals you could have a look at Stelara, though I don't know if that is available with you.
Light treatment, mwah.... It's not my thing, too heavy for your skin and the P always comes back.

Have a good time over here. Just mingle in, they are all very friendly.

Cheers,
Caroline

Hi Cayde and welcome to the forum, how nice it is to read that this is the first time you have felt like being open about having this disease . What Fred has created here is a friendly environment where we can safely talk about our fears , our hates, our hope for our future. We can do that here without being asked for donations, without enduring spam or advertisements. The site is unique...... So enjoy your time with us there is so much information here for you to sift through
If you get lost just shout there's usually someone close by.

I was 17 when I got psoriasis and I think it's fair to say it shaped my teen years, I lost self confidence and became withdrawn .... Always waiting for a break in the weather so I could get some sun in private.

It's good to see you are on biological drug and it's a shame it's not working. Perhaps it's time to change as Humira isn't working, perhaps get on to stelara or otezla
There are lots of things to try yet and one will work for you

It will help a lot to talk about it and there's  no better place to do that than here on psoriasis club, where you will find yourself among fellow sufferers

Welcome from Jim

Hello Cayde  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

It does help being open and talking about it, and you will always find someone here that will listen. We are all in the same boat and understand what it's like, you will find us a friendly bunch and we are the only truly independent psoriasis website out there.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi again Cayde.... Is there any reason apart from you wanted a change, that you came of Enbrel, as that was working well for you.... And can't you get shifted back to it ?

Welcome Cayde

I joined this forum a few months ago and the people here are really decent and friendly. I guess we all have one thing in common! I am not an expert but the collective knowledge here is excellent so feel free to ask any questions and I am sure there will be answers.

Or just chill here. It's definitely the best P forum out there as nobody is offering a miracle cure, it's all honest and genuine.

Well. Really just to try something new to see if I got better results. Embrel cleared majority but seemed like it was very slowly coming back. Dr thought maybe if I switched I would get a better reaction. I was gonna try and give it a month more. They say it takes a few months to adapt to your body. So I'm trying to remain hopeful. If that doesn't work I may try and switch to Stelara. Just sucks to get so far and wind up back at square 1.

I understand that it's frustrating ... Let's hope giving it a bit longer you will start to see some improvement .
I look forward to hearing more, as things hopefully start happening Thumb

Talked to Dr today going to switch back to Embrel. Praying and hoping it clears back where it was. I'll keep everyone posted.
