Week 8 update:

I've been working very hard to not let the Winter Blues get hold of me this year and been pleased with the way it has gone, but with this last damp spell we are currently having (two weeks now) it's looking like Stelara just can't cope with the psoriatic arthritis after week 8 like it used too. I found this with the 45mg dose and I know Stelara isn't great for psoriatic arthritis but the 90mg dose was getting me through it.

I've also got a cold sore and feeling a bit run down so that isn't helping. Funny thing is I've not had a cold sore like this for years. I used to get loads as a Kid but they got less as I got older, and the most odd thing is that I haven't had hardly any since being on the Bio's (I would have thought it should be the other way round)

Psoriasis Score has gone up from 3 up to  5

Psoriatic Arthritis score has gone up from 3 up to 11

Bloods and Dermatology in three weeks, will see how things are then.

I think that there are just nasty colds going about, Fred. My sister-in-law has been laid up for a good three weeks with one. Hopefully you can go on another bio without too much stuffing about if the Stelara continues to under-perform. Maybe you could get a script for minocycline if your cold lingers?

Hello Bill yes there does seem to be a lot of colds about here too. I usually manage to miss them and even though I'm on Bio's Mrs Fred usually gets them worse than me, forgot how annoying these damn cold sores were.

Good news though I've just my old faithful Coconut Oil is an "Antiviral" so I will be giving that a go.

Yes I think Cosentyx is looking to be my next choice (once the French finally get all the paperwork done  Whistle ) but I would still like to stay on Stelara a bit longer and hold that in reserve.

Sorry to hear that the Stelara is struggling to give you relief, thank goodness the drier  sunny weather will soon be here and that may well help the stelara a work....if not maybe it is time to change to Cosentyx but it will be a shame to give Stelara up as it has served you well

Shame your scores are going up, but that could be due to the weather and infections dragging you down

Hope your next dermatology appointment will be productive and you can discuss change if it's still needed Thumb

Thank you Jim. I did expect it over Winter (I do suffer with the Winter Blues) but I've been working hard at not letting it get me this year, and I almost made it. So I will do better at it next year.  Thumb

Yes I'm sure the next appointment will go well as I now have an option to switch (that is if the French have finished all their paperwork) whereas before there was no choice.

Fred, sorry to hear your score has gone up slightly.

Our favorite coconut oil that we use, do you eat it too or cook with it mate ?

A good thing for painful joints is tiger balm liniment. It warms the joints fast !!!

Recognizable Fred.
This morning Icy rain, and sore feet over here.

It's time spring is going to take over.

For me not flu's or whatever.
