Lots of info here so you've found the right place.
Most doctors seems to start with ointments and it seems they don't normally help much if at all. Looks like you know this isn't working for you so I'd get back to my dermatologist (or if you're seeing a gp, I'd ask for a dermatologist recommendation) and tell him/her that it's not working and you need relief! This forum has lots of info on what has worked for others and the pros and cons of treatments and members more than willing to share information.
