Hello,
I have had psoriasis for nearly 50 years. It started as a tiny patch on my scalp and at various times in my life it has covered my body so badly that I have been hospitalised for 4-weeks at a time. I have tried dithranol, Betnovate, UVA, PUVA and now I am on my second course of Neotigason which I have been taking 20mg daily for 15 years. I am not absolutely clear but it is manageable and the summer sunshine helps so much. My last liver test showed some raised levels so I might be looking for an alternative treatment. I'm hoping to chat on this forum and find out about the latest treatments and what you all think about them. If I can share my experiences of my life with psoriasis and the treatments I've had to help others, then that is a bonus. Nette

Hello Nette Welcome to Psoriasis Club

Can agree with that, Sunshine is the best treatment out there. Cool

As for the latest treatments this section gives the mostly used ones, and also has threads on users own experiences: Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis Also if you keep an eye on  Psoriasis And Psoriatic Arthritis Topics and look out for the threads with [Image: news.png] these are usually news items that I find.

Myself I'm a big fan of the Bio treatments as they have given me my life back, especially Stelara. But what works for some may not work for others, you will find others like Methotrexate and Caroline will always talk to you about Dimethylfumarates.

Nette, just jump on in and ask away you will find a friendly bunch always willing to share info. And don't hesitate to start your own threads to share your story.

Regards.

Fred.

Hello Nette,
Well lets talk about dimethylfumarates then..... Big Grin

Oh, I forgot, Welcome to the forum. Have a nice time.

My intro may be so direct because I am Dutch, which means that I always say directly what I think. Smile No fuss, no going around, just plain and immediate.
Well, luckily it is not that bad, I can be more subtle if necessary. Wink

You seem to have been on the treatments of your skin mainly during the last 50 years. As Fred stated, there is a whole scala of Biological and some other treatments with medication, where dimethylfumarates are part of. Search on the forum and you will find threads that talk about these different treatments.
There is a lot to read so take your time, and if you have questions, then just post them.

Cheers,
Caroline

Welcome hi Nette welcome to the forum. There's lots of good info on here, I have been through most of the same range of treatments you have apart from Neotigason, I am on Fumaderm and it is very effective, but I agree sunshine is the best control for me,unfortunately we don't often get good summers. So tend to rely on the drugs, I could not get on with MTX and have used Fumaderm for just over a year and apart from a few stomach cramps and flushes at the start it keeps my P at bay. Worth a mention to your dermatologist.
Enjoy the forum it's a great place to exchange views
