Good Morning Psoriasis Club! (and a foggy one it is here with me, autumn seems to be closing in on us!)

Thank you Sue, Kat, SLM and Caroline for welcoming me also! I will look into the Simponi Injections definitely!

Caroline, thanks for the suggestions and yes I think it is good idea to go 'armed' with information for my next visit, perhaps I will feel less like a number on her sheets and be treated less like one!

I am feeling very welcome and helped by all your support!

Wishing you all a lovely Friday!

Good morning Elvi good to see you back, it's a fine dry morning here in Norwich but we do have the autumn feel in the air.
I'm glad you are enjoying your time with us and look forward to hearing more updates
Time for work here( which for me involves going into my office and shuffling papers)
Jim

Welcome hope u find what UR looking for a lot to be shared. My p tale starts way back as a child. Now after many years it comes and goes. I have 4 types and PSA just started. Sunshine vit-D and moisturizer.OTC DERMAREST, Psoriasin.sometimes steroids and light treatment. Now there are so many OTC PRODUCTS THAT WORK .For scalp T Gel helps me. I find any product with coal tar in it works for me. THE SECRET IS CONSISTANCY and stay with one cream. And always use moisturizer. I like the wax hand sap 'a really puts moisture back in hand and feet.
There are a lot of good prescription creams to. Then there are the months I wear gloves from palmoplanter ...Then there are the P.'s that are just very stubborn. But generally I am grateful I can manage to keep it in remission.
P. On my hands and feet have been in remission for 3 years. The cracking can be very painful on hands as well as feet. So I do a lot of occlusion right away not to let it get out of control and the layers of skin build up then it takes sooo long to contain It or put in remission. Creams for P. With salicylic acid help the P scales recede. Stay away from anything other than glycerin soap. No additives Laural sulfates.etc.
So whatever treatment u choose I hope u see remission soon.

When my son was on life support last year he survived, that's when my psoriatic arthritis started. So I can understand stress levels can be a huge cause of P flares. I'm on DMARDS for it now seems to really help. Have two hip joint replacements the DMARDS help with joint pain too! So as long as I have mobility I am thankful and grateful for the many treatments available.

Before u see a derm go to the many web sites online, as well as this forum. Whatever your choice I hope UR P goes into remission. All the medical web sites talk about occlusion how to do it how often and what to use,as well asother treatment options.
Good Luck!

Hello Quest4Cure,

Goodness, I hope your son is okay! I can't imagine how I would feel if that was my daughter, I am so sorry!

Yes I have heard lots on the benefits of sunshine - it seems a great excuse for me to take a holiday! I have tried various topical remedies and am starting to look into other options and thanks to the people's advice on this forum I am starting to see more and more options! Thanks for the advice!

Yoga is great Jim- it is my new love!! And you take the bends in your own time and ability - it is just so soothing. I have been doing it for around two years or so now - I too was apprehensive and I don't think I will be doing headstands or putting my legs behind my head any day soon but my goodness do you feel relaxed afterwards!

Elvie thank you for your reply regarding the yoga eek I know it's not for me if I got any more laid back I would fall over backwards.
How's the psoriasis now ? Have you seen your dermatologist about a different treatment?
