Welcome and sorry I'm a bit late answering.

I can only speak of my own experience with Acitretin. I was also hesitant when the doctor prescribed it as in general, I don't like taking medicine and worry about what it is I'm putting into my system and how it can affect it long term. I had very little (if any) side effects. The reason I say if any is because I was looking for them and they were so mild I'm not sure that it was the Acitretin that caused it or not (dry mouth, a bit more hair on my brush after brushing my hair, that sort of thing.) Although at first I didn't notice any results as it took quite a few weeks for things to start improving. But once they started, I cleared up really fast. In my case, I talked with my dermatologist and we reduced my dosage and then even discontinued the Acitretin. I do have a few persistent patches now, but I'm able to treat them topically and I keep a close watch. Should things start to go backwards then I would go back on the Acitretin to clear up. So for me, Acitretin worked and made a huge difference. I hope you get good results as well. Smile
