I've had Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis for several years. I was on Humira for the last two years, and recently switched to Stelara. The symptom I am having has been consistent with both medications. It could be really common, I just don't know. That's why I'm here  Tongue  My knees are 100% clear. However, if I kneel down, or if the skin rubs on the lower part of the kneecap in a certain way, it feels like I'm rubbing an open wound. It is super painful. It's not a "sore" feeling, but more like a burning. Its like I have a sore under my clear skin. I really hope somebody knows what in talking about, and if there's any known way to get relief.

Thanks!

Hello Jojo,

Welcome to Psoriasis club.

Personally I don't know if this is a well known effect. I have not heard anyone on the forum about it. But soon other members will see your post and there may be a good chance that someone of them recognises it.

In the mean time make yourself comfortable on our forum which is filled with nice people. We have specific boards on our common disease but also off-topic boards where you can go for a chat or a drink.

Have fun!
Caroline

Hi Jojo and a warm welcome  Welcome to the club, I myself have no knowledge of Stelara or Humira so can't comment on the whether the pain you are getting in your knee is caused by the drugs or something else, my guess, is that it's something else, but I'm sure the Stelara crowd will be on shortly and may know of a similar symptom
Enjoy the site it is packed with information on psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and the various treatments together with genuine experiences of fellow sufferers

I hope you will find an answer here, whilst you are searching feel free to join in any of the discussions and as a member you can join us in the off topic section where everything apart from psoriasis is discussed, and to break the ice we have a chatting thread where you could meet other members

Sorry not had that symptom myself, and don't recall anyone else mentioning it either.

I have been Humira in the past and Stelara for 6 years now, but I've never experience what you mention. I would suggest you phone your dermatologist and see what they have to say.

Welcome to Psoriasis Club by the way.  Wave

It sounds like a neuralgia. It can present as a burning sensation. Not psoriasis related as far as I know. Hope this is of help to you.

After searching around, it seems likely to be tendinitis. Just waiting to go to the doc  Rolleyes Thanks so much for the help!

Also, not sure if this allowed, but I have an extra ******** I'm not going to use. I hate to just toss it.

Hi Jojo I hope you get some treatment for your tendinitis which can give you some relief Thumb

But in answer to your question about offering to give away unwanted drugs that's a big NO . It's not allowed by law and is against the rules if this site
Sadly you don't have an option but to dispose of it safely yourself ....I know it's an expensive drug but non the less it's not allowed and could get you into trouble if you were to offer it to anyone

Hello Jojo, Jim is right it is illegal to offer prescription drugs for sale or as a gift.

Also we don't allow any form of advertising on Psoriasis Club. It's nothing against you personally but we try to keep Psoriasis Club totally independent and if we allow one we will have to allow others.

The only thing I could suggest would be to contact your pharmacy or dermatologist, though I would imagine they would just tell you to bin it.

Thank you so much for the replies. I apologize for my previous post. Thank you for editing it for me. I wasn't trying to sell, but rather donate. It's too bad that this is illegal. I guess I can see the reasoning, but seeing as how expensive a lot of drugs are, it's too bad s17

I agree it's a shame Jojo as you say some of these drugs are over $1000 dollars a shot and even if you return them to a pharmacist he will be obliged to destroy it

There is so much waste of medicines that could easily be reused it's a shame they can't be collected and sent to third world countries

But I guess there's no profit in that Confused
