I use dead sea salt baths for my feet...soak for 20 minutes then massage Dermol 500 lotion in (daytime) or Epiderm ointment (night time as its greasy) this helps keep the skin soft.

Organic raw Coconut Oil is also good especially on the scalp - massage it in wrap up in a towel for a few hours (overnight if possible) then shampoo with Alphosyl or an SLS Free shampoo... scalp will be free of plaques and your hair will be lovely and soft!)

I am documenting my Acitertin progress in the 'Journal' section of the Forum so you can check it out.  TINK'S JOURNEY

Hello Pete, yes you need to make 10 posts before it unlocks. The reason is to respect our members privacy that don't want to share on the public boards.

If you want to get there quicker you could find something to post in [Group Specific]

Welcome Pete!

I'm not going to say you shouldn't try to build your own as I don't know your experience but I WILL say if you go that route, make sure you follow the doctors recommendation on wattage, timing, etc.

I take a Vit D supplement (sometimes regularly, sometimes not at all) and I can say that I've never noticed an improvement. I'm not sure if it's one that the skin needs to absorb it to make a difference or if that matters, only that I've never noticed the supplement improving anything.

It takes a while to usually find what is going to work best for you. Creams always seem to be the beginning and if they work great but if they aren't working there are a lot of options available (and a lot of info here to help!)

Again, welcome to the club!

Hi Pete - and another belated welcome to the club.

I won't repeat what everyone has said so far - (I'm a retired IT manager from the nuclear industry - there you go, something new!) but I will encourage you to get your post rate above 10 so that you can access the personal journeys section.....  This forum probably contains the worlds largest resources concerning all forms of P.  No single dermatologist could absorb all the information available on this forum.  You've come to the right place.....   Dammit I'm beginning to repeat what the others have said.

Poison Ivy as a P. trigger!  That's a new one for me. In my case I blame emotional stress and an insufficient (non-existent actually) supply of cannabis.

Time to shut up.

Cheers, and I hope you soon find what it is you need to mitigate your condition.  There is no cure for P.

Yet another belated welcome. You kind of run out of stuff to say when your this late but I was interested in what you had to say about the poison ivy thing. It looks like quite a few people have had 'mechanical' triggers and not just stress.
Having had 3 lots of UV, 2x UVB and 1x UVA with the tablets, from experience it didn't help me much, about 3 weeks remission at its best, then it returned with a vengeance. Having been singed a little even under Dermy observation, please be very very careful if you go down the DIY route. You could be storing up a lot of trouble for yourself.

That's the doom and gloom out of the way. Trawl through there is tons of good stuff here and a few 'silly corners' if you wish to join in - we are all tame and house trained and don't forget, there is no such thing as a stupid question on this forum someone will have either experience or know where to get the answer from.

Thanks guys.    Ive been using the clobetasol and desonate on the feet, and got my dead sea salts for the foot bath.   Its definitely improving daily while on it so i get to enjoy myself for the time being.    Nice day out here, got some good sun.

Think maybe the poison ivy thing came across wrong.   See i was clearing some with poison, so i THOUGHT i had poison ivy.   To be honest i havent had it in years.   So im guessing that was psoriasis and misdiagnosed especially since i was aware of my surroundings prior and it seemed to line up.    I was also sick, stressed, lacking sleep....sure i really fired off every trigger i could~
