Hi tinkerbell and welcome to the club, I'm afraid I don't know about myfenox as a treatment for psoriasis

But the toctino are retinoids and usually prescribed for eczema from the little I know .and not likely to help psoriasis.

I hope someone here can help, in the meantime read through the prescribed treatments here and see what others are using .....none that I know are on those tablets

Thanks for joining and feel free to ask as many questions as you wish

Hi again I looked up myfenox, but couldn't find anything .....could it be myfenax as I have read about that...it is an immunosuppressant and used as an anti rejection drug with transplant patients. I have seen one report of it being used for psoriasis but was unsuccessful in that case

I hadn't heard of it being used that way before,  although methotrexate as an immunosuppressive works so maybe you could be lucky
I will keep my fingers crossed, however if it doesn't start to show results in a few weeks tell your dermatologist you would like to go on one of the more conventional treatments. They are all listed here Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis

Hi Tinkerbell

Welcome to the club - am interested to see how you do on the new tablets.

Looks like we also have something else in common too

I have a feeling these will not work. He said three weeks to kick in, trouble is Toctino has made my hands sore and skin peeling off , so the new tablets have really got to work hard. I used to have psorriassis on my feet legs and parts of my body, that cleared on its own, just left now with it on my hands, so I have dermovate twice aday for on fortnight, cannot stand using steroid creams , tablets . And a cream to use at night , generally they give me presnidone if they are really bad , but. Or this time, just grin and bear it , will give it 10 days if no difference then back to to see consultant,

Hopefully it will clear up

Hi Tinkerbell have a read through this board here Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis
So if it doesn't work you will have some ideas of what to ask your dermatologist for next
I have a feeling that he's not following guidelines with either of those drugs for psoriasis ...but then I'm not a dermatologist and he is ...and you should follow his instructions and hope he has got it right Thumb

Yes I'm with Jim, it doesn't sound to me that you are on a good path with your treatment.

Can I ask, have you been offered a steroid based cream and refused it? The reason I ask is because your dermatologist has a protocol to follow and if you refused to try something like say Dovobet then it is making their job difficult.

Welcome to Psoriasis Club by the way.

Using hydromol of an evening bit like a tub of lard, that is to try and make my hands not so dry, when I buy hand creams have to look at the ingredients , to see if it is suitable, I do use the steroid creams/ointments don't really like them make your skin thin, what medication are you all taking or creams ,

We have a wide range of members taking or trying all sorts of things. I would say have a good look at some other threads and see if something is of interest to you and ask questions, but remember that what works for one may not work for others.
