Thanks Fred that's very interesting if the figure that Bill posted is correct, then it's a lot less expensive than everything but Methotrexate ....

I'm glad there's another drug in the armoury that I haven't tried yet. I have a sneaking suspicion I won't get on with the stomach problems though..

Ahhh but the stomach problems don't last long TL and if skilarence is pure DMF the side effects could be less, possibly similar to Psorinovo  Thumb

Jim !!!!!

The essence of Psorinovo is the enteric coated and slow release, so no stomach pains and less bowel irritation. If the new product is not enteric coated you will still have stomach pains!!!

Bills idea on the other side, looks very smart ! Because it is a liquid.....

I thought methotrexate was even cheaper € 19, the twenty or something like that. It is a very cheap poison.   Tongue. But I must add to that, that I am not completely sure about that. If Fred has a good source than that will be the better one.

Skilarence will be available as 30-mg and 120-mg gastro-resistant tablets, maybe not slow release but certainly designed to minimise gastric problems, it seems from  reading the EMA document

It depends what country, currency, size, source, etc.

I got my price from an NHS source, and it's the price they are paying this month.

Couldn't get Skilarence though.

Ciclosporin sounds expensive Confused

Hopefully one day the NHS will do away with Ciclosporin and mtx. Bloody horrible stuff they are.

As for DMF, good news and it's something else in the dermatologist arsenal to fight our horrible disease Thumb

Ok, I did not see that yet. Smile
But if so, it surely may reduce the stomach problems.

Treatment: Dimethyl fumarate

I got my info from this article:

< Dimethyl fumarate for moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis
Lead author: Elizabeth Okpara
Regional Drug & Therapeutics Centre (Newcastle)
February 2017
© NTAG 2017?

It included this information on pricing:

<Methotrexate PO 7.5 mg weekly £9.87
Methotrexate PO 25 mg weekly £32.88
Acitretin 25 mg daily £335.12
Acitretin 50 mg daily £670.25
Methotrexate SC 7.5 mg weekly £772.97
Methotrexate SC 25 mg weekly £961.92
Ciclosporin 2.5 mg/kg daily* £1,487.79
Fumaderm® 240 mg daily** £1,834.56
Ciclosporin 5 mg/kg daily* £2,912.83
Fumaderm® 720 mg daily** £5,503.68
Apremilast (Otezla®) 30 mg BD £7,150.00
Etanercept (Benepali®) 50 mg weekly £8,536.53
Adalimumab (Humira®) 40 mg every 2 weeks £9,151.98
Ustekinumab (Stelara®) 45 mg or 90 mg every 12 weeks £9,299.95
Infliximab (Inflectra® or Remsima®) 5 mg/kg* every 8 weeks £9,815.23
Secukinumab (Cosentyx®) 300 mg monthly £15,837.80>

My price estimate was for daily 240 mg Fumaderm for a year and I am assuming that NICE will drive a hard bargain for the benefit of British taxpayers. For 14*120 mg DMF, Tecfidera is claimed to cost ~£340. The same quantity would cost me 4.1664 cents US.
