Checking in with an update.

I got a call from Janssen yesterday to let me know the next dose is being shipped to the Dr. this coming week so will be getting my second shot in about 2 weeks.

So far I'm noticing a slight reduction in the plaques on my legs or at least they're not building up as rapidly as before. Still have significant scaliness on my right leg. My left leg is looking much better. I've had some very mild nausea in the mornings but not a big deal...I think pregnancy nausea was worse!

Not as tired at this point as I was earlier, even though I have the night shift duty with our little puppy. Sleep Sleep

I am noticing my right hip acting up but that, I'm pretty sure, is due to some intensive gardening the last few weekends. This weekend is pure R & R. Smile

Interesting what you say about Humira - I tried that last year for a few months, I had no side effects and felt really good on it. Sadly it didn't actually work on my skin!

Maybe my perception of Humira is incorrect...my Dr was throwing lots of options at me before Stelara and they all sounded yucky! Sad Between the repeated lab work needed & frequency of doses, it didn't appeal to me...or my Dr. who's been very impressed with patients she has on Stelara.

Have you tried pineapple for your aches & pains? I swear after eating a few bites, my joint aches are gone!

That's good news to be seeing a difference already ...I hope the nausea wears off soon ...but I guess a price worth paying for a short while if you can see a benefit

Enjoy your weekend of R&R it's what weekends are for Big Grin Thumb

Sounds like it's starting to kick in Darcy  Thumb

You may want to change the treatment showing in your profile as it says "Taclonex". You can do that here: Edit *It's not obligatory though.

Enjoy the rest.

A week ago I had my second Stelara dose (8/8/2017). The next day I was super tired and went to bed when I got home from work. Sleep Sleep Sleep
Slight headache the following day. Now, I'm feeling pretty normal.

Dr. was pleased with the results I've had in the first month and said that's a good indication I will be clear with Stelara! Woohoo!

I still have plaque patches on my legs, still itch at times but manageable...I no longer feel like I want to tear my skin off! Clap

My light therapy "tan" is slowly fading. Must remember to apply lotion to keep skin moisturized so I don't feel like a scorched lobster!

Next dose is in 3 months so will be interesting what happens between now & then.

Sounding good Darcy.  Thumb

Yes it can sometimes effect you a little after the shot, but your body will soon get used to it and it gets milder as time goes on. I used to take my shot at the weekend when I knew I wouldn't be doing so much.

It is indeed a good treatment and it's good to hear your skin is clearing, I'm with your doctor (you will soon be clear) it is possible you may get a little tail off at the third month as the loading doses are closer. But the next shot will soon kick in

Good luck over the next three months.
