Thanks  Thumb  so it will be a steady build up I understand now  Smile

Exactly, they just want to make sure I don't have any adverse reaction, probably being more cautious because of the IgA nephropathy.

Yes it's a wise move, better to be safe with a history of kidney disease Thumb

Hi Vincent,
I only seen your post now. Can I ask how you got on? I'm on 15mg of mtx but my skin hasn't cleared at all. It's actually gotten worse Confused I'm hoping it will start to kick in soon

Hopefully It will kick in soon ccar.
You know my hesitations with MTX, but as long as you can deal with it...

Remember, there is a new DMF medication in the form of Skilarence. This has no MEF, like Fumaderm has, and might do better. A thought to keep in your mind.

If basically you liver is ok. Then DMF, the only and working substance in Skilarence, has no interaction with liver nor kidneys. That is why it is such great stuff, but not seen by dermatologists.
It may be different if you already have problems with your liver, but that holds even more for MTX.

Fumaderm may have an interaction with your liver because it contains MEF (mono ethyl fumarate) which is toxic.
