You can vary the absorption time of DMF by varying the particle size. Ground to a powder it absorbs rapidly; As supplied to me it absorbs more slowly. With a larger particle size it would absorb more slowly still. The biggest hassle that I have had taking the raw stuff is in getting it from my mouth to my tummy. This is because DMF is a local irritant. Mixed in ice cream has worked for me, but mixed in a lump of caramel and swallowed whole would probably be better. I must try this Smile

Can't you put it in kind of capsule? So it is easier to swallow?

Of course you could, but what happens when the capsule breaks? I want the DMF to disperse in order to avoid any concentrated contact with the gut. I think that this could be accomplished better than other methods I have tried if the DMF were mixed into a piece of toffee.

But if you would do it in toffee and you would succeed.... they you would have made your own slow release. .....

Toffee will dissolve in the stomach quickly, so no it is not slow release. Its purpose is to prevent irritation to the mouth and oesophagus. I have a yummy caramel recipe. If it works well I may retry powdered DMF.

I read this a while ago and have just reread it and one thing sticks out. It is regarding alcohol. This stuff carries advice on severely limiting alcohol consumption, but I've never heard anybody implying that Fumaderm carries the same advice. It does seem kind of confusing seeing that it is essentially the same drug.

Yes John I've been on Fumaderm around six years with great success ..and I eat and drink what I like and I am partial to an odd drink or two in the evening Rolleyes ....as far as I can tell it's had no effect on the efficacy of Fumaderm ...so I have no idea why that give that advice for Skilarence ...although it's pretty standard now to warn people away from alcohol

Indeed It is pretty stupid. There is nowhere in the literature of 35 years of DMF, a link to alcohol consumption limitations. .

If something comes up in the trials  regardless of how stupid, they have to report it.  My guess is that it will take doctors a year or two to figure out DMF (new to states) and they'll screen out all the stupid stuff.

Hihi, bit of a backlash in the states.   Wink   We already have it for more than 35 years, but you knew that already as I bragged about that earlier Blush

These trials for Skilarence have been done in Europe, so have nothing to do with the states, but I can imagine that they follow an alike protocol in reporting everything. Even though 35 years of practical use has already erased that. There are only three side effects with DMF, of which one can be serious. That is the low lymphocytes, furthermore you only have the flushes which are harmless and the inconvenient/sometimes painful gut. No problems with liver or kidney, unless you use Fumaderm, that has toxic additions which are not necessary.

I am working on more info on Skilarence, but that may take some weeks.
