Sounding like it's going the right way. 6 Days and seeing results is a good sing, the headaches could be related but your body will get used to the change going on and learn to adjust.

Keep positive, it's one of the best treatments for psoriasis. Smile

It is good to hear that the Acitretin looks like it is doing something. Just be careful with the headaches, if they are there when you wake and it feels like a really really bad hangover and last 3 or 4 days continuous, I would flag it up to your Dermy.

Just caught up on this - I can’t use anything the docs give out like epiderm, and the emollients they supply sting my skin so much they decided to do a patch test to see if it was an allergy.
Personally I’d give my face a break, if the creams and things aren’t helping or seem to make it worse. I use aveeno moisturiser myself and that doesn’t sting me like double base or e45. You could even just use a little oil to stop your skin drying out.

Thank you all. The headaches are like a hangover JohnB but not a really bad one, just like being a bit dehydrated after a night out (if only). I will mention it to the consultant. My GP just prescribed centraben ointment. I will try avenoo next!
Today loads more spots have come up on both legs and arms....not sure if this is the Acitretin or my psoriasis developing further (I really hope not). Has anyone experienced lots more spots as a side effect or Acitretin?

If you are waking with them, I would phone your Dermy for advice. It could be the Acitretin and some headaches aren't a good sign of tolerance. If by spots, you mean acne type, no I have never had any while on Acitretin, any small red spots generally grow up scaly Confused .

I like Cetraben, but you may find it a little thick and greasy to apply to some areas.

Ok thanks. He's on holiday this week but wil phone him next week or my GP if it gets worse.
I mean spots that turn scaly not acne....they start as distinct spots as opposed to the large red patches I have on my face and hands. They are in new places....I wasn't sure if Acitretin makes existing patches worse or could trigger new ones altogether?

Ahhhhhh. I do get the odd red patch. Sometimes it lasts a few days some decide to hang around a lot longer. As long as they don't itch or burn I tend to ignore them, having said that non of mine are normally visible.

Day 8 of Acitretin and things have got worse (apart from my face which is better than before but still red and blotchy like burns). I've developed even more new patches and spots of psoriasis and itch like mad. Hoping it will pass...

I hope the extra patches and the itching calm down soon, I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it starts to work for you soon Thumb

Thank you...my face is better than it was and I was feeling very hopeful...but it's just gone mad on my body today for some reason. Hoping it's just a short term blip.
