Welcome to Psoriasisclub. Thanks for your introduction.
I think we certainly can give you some hints on the direction you might go. But we will not go smashing you with advice, first take a look around.
In the mean time I do wonder what are your thoughts on why you got the Psoriasis in the first place and what were the injections that were given to you (I guess mtx)

Cheers and have fun over here with us

Caroline

Caroline thanks for the welcome. I feel Xarelto has an under documented cause of "skin issues", which directly caused my Psoriasis.  Hated to go off the Warfarin but after so many years on it, my body was not reacting well and I would swing too high and low, quality of life was becoming an issue.  I'm concerned with my current Pradaxa but it's the next best option, I do think it was rushed to market since it does have a reversal option in emergency cases, the others do not.  I plan to retest my blood issue once I get to goal weight and stay there for some time. I have a clotting disorder, Lupus Anti Anticoagulant.  I'm supposed to be on blood thinner for life, had a DVT & PE in 2001 and another DVT in 2013.

Yes the injections were MTX, insurance covered 2 syringes each visit. I'm easy on pain, having weekly blood tests for more than a decade, longest i could ever get was 2 weeks, but not very often. I do like only going every 6 months now for blood work, like normal folks.

Fred & Jimi, thanks for the links and info. Spend some time this morning reading up on a lot more therapies than I knew available. I think this one is starting to wear off. I don't know if others experience this, but I get these hard crystals that push up through the skin and then out of the body and then heal over. I get it on my hands and feet, mostly the hands. I have one on a finger now, throughout the day it will travel up and out. I've not gotten a real answer from my Dr, and assume it's the medicines and toxic RX I've been given over my lifetime, 50yrs now coming out and leaving for good.

Wishing all a pain free day and start to a great weekend.
John

Never heard of that John, it could be worth starting a new thread in Psoriasis And Psoriatic Arthritis Topics someone may know.

Welcome John, and thank you for sharing your story.  I, like you, suffer from moderate-severe plaque psoriasis currently over about 35-40% of my body.  It can be so painful and frustrating, along with so many other emotions.  On a positive note, there is a ton of support and information here!

I have had the hair loss, this long hair I'm wearing is a wig...after two years mine is finally growing back.  I always had psoriasis on my scalp but stress/who knows caused a flare that resulted in me having to cut my hair off completely to get my scalp to heal, and I was tired of losing a handful of hair in the shower every day.  A year ago I was 60-70% covered on my arms, back, legs.  It is now slowly reducing and going back into remission.  I am going the natural route, as I don't have medical coverage right now.

Don't give up and hang in there!! Welcome

Lillie
