Anti inflammatory drugs are not helping at all......for me anyway!

They have never worked for me and I hate taking them as the always affect my stomach as do most pills. sick

Yes I must agree, I ended up with an stomach ulcer taking Naproxen but it was a long term dose.

I hate any pills, I'll take them if I have to but I even put up with pain rather than pop pills. They never agree with me for some reason, and I gag even thinking about taking one.

Never had problems taking them but it's just that after a while they stopped working or caused other problems.

I have naproxen 500mg twice a day but there is 37.5 mg of God knows what with it....pills are coated to reduce stomach issues.

So....never had issues but....they don't work!

Note for reference: 09 July 20

I can't work out what is going on and I had given up on keeping score due to so many fluctuations daily, but today things are getting better just when I expected them to get worse.

I'm on week 7 and today a lot of the psoriatic arthritis pain has gone, and the psoriasis has even improved a bit more.

Psoriasis Score: Down from 4 to 2.

Psoriatic arthritis score: Down from 9 to 4.

It has to be a flare.

hm, fingers crossed, but it seems a bit odd, having a flare while on Tremfya.

For the time being I am very relieved for you,
Now let’s hope it was just a flare.

Thank you Artemie. I've had flares with just about every treatment mostly with psoriasis, but not so much with psoriatic arthritis.

I think it just goes to prove how difficult it is to treat and how different we all are.

Thank you Caroline. Yes I  hope so, I was starting to think it was failing. A week ago I  would have said dump it, but now I'm thinking give it another 6 months.

Time for a little update. It's around 6 months now and I had a dermatology appointment a couple f weeks ago.

We have decided to carry on for another 6 months as it now seems to be settling down.

Psoriasis score is still on two as I have a little bit on each shin, but it's very mild and it's one of those places where it never completely goes away.

Psoriatic arthritis score can go down from 4 to 3 but it can sometimes be annoying when it's damp, so I think it may go back up in the winter. But we will see.

Pleased to say the red itchiness never came back again so it must have been the Cosentyx.

My stomach seems to be getting more used to it now.

Unfortunately the cold sores kept coming back so she did give me another 6 months tablets like I had 3 years ago. I hate taking tablets but they did work last time, so it will be worth it to get rid of the cold sores.

Apart from the psoriatic arthritis annoying me sometimes, I'm happy to go another 6 months and see where we are then.

That sounds very positive Fred I hope that it continues for you. You will have to waterproof yourself to keep the damp out in the winter, maybe some underseal. Big Grin

Good to know that you are happy with the tremfya now and although not perfect it's giving you good relief and keeping you comfortable ....I don't think there's a perfect drug unfortunately but Tremfya is seeming good for you let's hope it's a long lasting drug so you don't have to adjust to another anytime soon

Strange about the itchyness but it does seem to have been caused by the cosentyx thank goodness that has stopped now

Looking forward to the next update and hope it's still positive Thumb
