Yes I'm with Jim, there is no certainty that you will also get the arthritis. We do have a thread here that may help: What is psoriatic arthritis But personally I would wait and see if you get it before worrying about it.

Also all treatments are a flipped coin. What works for one may not work for another, it's all about getting the right treatment for the individual to manage it.

Hello,

Update after 2nd shot:

Highs:
  • The thickness is gone in about 90%, although the patches stay the same. A bit less red, more pinkish. I guess it's a matter of time.
  • Haven't used Clobetasol shampoo since the beggining of the treatment, to check what happened if I stopped using it. No psoriasis on my scalp. Didn't have much, enough to be a bit embarrassed when I went to the hairdresser.
  • No more skin peaces when getting undressed. It used to be like christmas 3 weeks ago. That's a major breaktrough
  • The confidence gained is amazing. I do gym with short sleeves. Still not enough to use short pants. We'll get there, I hope.

Lows:
  • The fatigue: I'm having a hard time waking up before 9am. Feel exhausted. I'm a travel agent, so the work has been pretty slow since April. That's why I get to stay in bed longer, but damn it's something to ponder. It could be also because I'm pushing harder to go back to my pre-pandemic numbers on the treadmill, hitting 5 days a week the gym. But still, the tiredness is a bit beyond normal.
  • Lack of vitamin D: In patagonia we are in cold season since March. We've had a good last weekend, but not enough to get that tan that I believe it will diminish the pinks, that now make pretty high contrast with the winter pale of my skin.

Bottomline: IT IS WORKING. Cosentyx feels like the right treatment after 7 ongoing years of nonstop evolution.

Willl post again 5 days after the 3rd shot, which is tomorrow.

Thank you all, spreading hopefullness, taking the bright path.

Hi Emiliano good to see you back and to hear that the cosentyx is working well for you and has given you back your self confidence
It will take a little while for the skin to weather to the same colour as the rest of your skin . It would probably help if you could get some sunshine so I hope the weather there changes for you.

Hello Emiliano, yes Jim is right it will take a while for the skin pigment to get back to it's usual colour. I still have a few marks where it never did, but then again I don't go out in the sun.

As for the fatigue. I used to get it when I first started the bio's especialy with Stelara, but never realy noticed it with Cosentyx. Worth remembering that you are bunging a lot in quickly for the loading dose, so once you get on the maintenance dose you should find it gets easier.

Hello,

Update after 3rd shot:

I'm getting used to feel my skin all smooth. Still have some roughness in random patches (lower leg, right side of my torso -is that a word?-, ankle).

The patches are whitening from the outside to the core. Still cold weather, can't get enough sun to accelerate the process. Got my plane tickets and documents ready to fly out of this cold as soon as borders get open...

I'm not using Clobetasol shampoo anymore.
Tried not using any body lotion for a couple of days to check what happened. Not a good idea, my skin went dry and wrinkled on some places, so back on it.

Confidence is being gained everyday, just for the fact that I'm not thinking in what to wear, what happens when I get undressed (if too many skin pieces), it's not itching, it's just not there. So psoriasis occupies my mind but only to watch progress. The virtuous circle. It's been a while...

Got a new OCD behavior: can't stop touching my elbows. They feel too good.

Tomorrow is my 4th and final loading shot . Will update the outcome after a few days of getting it, as usual now.

Be strong and healthy everyone, if you can't sometimes, remember there's always hope. At least in this particular issue that concerns us.

Thanks again for sharing experiences, it makes a great difference.

Yes torso is the trunk of the body.

And you are right "there is always hope" and keeping positive can be a great help for psoriasis.
