I used to have permission to put them in the waiting room at the hospital, but it's all modern now and there is no waiting room as such.

You all have nothing to lose by trying (as long as you have permission) but no one has ever said they found us via one.

Curious so I did some searches. I typed Psoriasis Club into Google (I use a shortcut to get here usually) and came up as the 3rd option, after that was the national one, followed by Psoriasis Club Twitter (which I don't tweet) then Psoriasis Club Facebook, then something else with those words in it but not related, then a resource guide followed by Psoriasis Club again (home page I think) and something else but after than Psoriasis Club Pinterest. The two links were to here and the Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest all looked to be associated with here.

I used Bing and Psoriasis Club showed up on 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th place to different areas of the forum but don't see any of the others (Twitter, Facebook...) listed.

Third may not be number 1 but it's still up there so ...... maybe I'm missing something???????

I can't edit this post so the bold caps above were fixes that I thought were less confusing. And just to give you some information, I do use Google Chrome on occasion (better security than some of the others, or so that's what I've heard) but it isn't my default browser. Currently my default browser is Bing. I also have Internet Explorer but it's broke at the moment. Confused Just quit working one day and I haven't bothered checking out why or tried to fix it.

Yes, that is correct if you search for “Psoriasis Club”. That is quite a straight forward search.
I use DuckDuckGo and then I see first two Ad’s and then the first are we.

But now if you search for just Psoriasis....
then on DuckDuckGo it shows only at the fourth page, on Google we just don’t show up.

Yes Kat, Caroline is correct.  What you are doing is searching for something specific and yes you will find us higher up, but people will not be searching for "Psoriasis Club"

An example of paying is there where you say "I typed Psoriasis Club into Google and came up as the 3rd option, after that was the national one" The "National one" pays Google and will have put "Psoriasis Club" in one of it's choices to be found.

So we are not getting found on Google because like Caroline said they are not ranking us in a search for "Psoriasis" because I refuse to pay, but they have to show us is you put "Psorasis Club" as that was your search question.

To give an example depending on how much I paid them, I could rank us high on a search for "Psoriasis Scam" "Psoriasis Cure" even "Can carrot juice help psoriasis" but as I don't pay I can only point their bot to our website.

If Google played fair your search for "Psoriasis Club" should put both our websites and our social media websites far above the other one you mention, and in fact they should not show up in a fair result if you searched for "Psoriasis Club"

But Google don't play fair.  Thumbsdown

As for browser security, I think it's more about your system. I prefer Firefox because they are not owned by Google and don't collect information about me, I have nothing to hide but we all know that Google wants to own all our information.

Re you not being able to edit, can you try a test thread as you should be able to edit.

Yeah it hit me after I logged out last night that I had searched specifically for Psoriasis Club and you would have meant a search for psoriasis. Sometimes things take a few minutes to sink in with me. Tongue

Off to test thread...

Hello Google you arsehole

Those of you that know me and Psoriasis Club's fight with Google will know that our forum today will never get highly ranked in a Google (Note I'm using the word "Google" a lot. It's stuffing and something they tell me is wrong) search, because ..................................... I will never pay them and this is called word stuffing. Yes we have been accused of putting the word "psoriasis" too many time on out forum.

I do use their so called "Webmaster Tools" and have gone to huge extremes to try and please them, I even created psoriasisclub.com just to please them, but they are only interested in money.

Google you may have control of 92% of the people searching the internet, but don't keep telling me I need to do more. I am fed up with trying to please you, so much so that I'm now posting this in our public boards.

Our members (a great bunch of people) will already know my thoughts about you, but it's time to make it public that ................................

Psoriasis Club recommends you find yourself a better search engine as Google are controlling you. I'm not posting this to tell you which search engine to use and there are many out there, what I am doing is saying that Google are keeping information about you and bumping up results from those that pay Google

Psoriasis Club has been around for 10 years now and I have always followed Google advise to get us found in search results, but they are now taking the piss and will never push Psoriasis Club up for it's Good, Regular, Honest, Content instead they will push us way way down the bottom because I refuse to pay them.

You can carry on using Google for your favourite search engine, but please remember that by doing so you are helping destroy places like Psoriasis Club.

*I will post this in the public boards, but our members are welcome to add their comments or suggest it is removed from public or Google view.

I will listen to our members, but I will no longer listen to Google. Google tells small people like Psoriasis Club what to do and how to behave, even if you conform they still punish you if you don't pay.

Psoriasis Club is the only totally independent psoriasis website to be found, we may not get so many new members these days but the ones we do have are genuine.

I'm not allowed under Psoriasis Club rules to swear in this thread, but I will say for now Google ............ you may control 92% of the world, but you will never control Psoriasis Club.

All capitals on a forum is classed as shouting and I dislike it, but in the case I have to say .....................................

USE GOOGLE AND WAVE GOODBYE TO FREEDOM .........................................

Your choice, Psoriasis Club is here to stay but by using Google you are destroying places like this.

Comments welcome

Fred.
