Docs taking on patients are as common as hens teeth. But at this rate a walk in doctor might be a better option.

I have to admit I’m confused - you have private healthcare in Canada? But it’s hard to get a doctor?
I wish you luck on your search Thumb

Yes...we have our Healthcare system that pays for Doctors. However, as a result, We never seem to have enough doctors and finding a new one could take weeks or months or in some cases, years. Many Canadians rely upon docs in walk in clinics. Not the best scenario but it helps resolve the here and now issues. People often don't know about diagnoses until it's too late or later on in the illness. So Canada is not a perfect place for health care.

Good luck in your search for a new doctor as your current one seems to be inept. However it's good you've got a diagnosis of diabetes at least you can start addressing that now

I just think he has lost his focus. I have appreciated his professionalism and kindness up until now. With my wife, he doesn't share as much with her as he does with my. I come home and have a complete explanation of my illness, outcome and treatment. She has little in the way of anything other than treatment and a prescription. If she does have info, it's because she has pried it out of him with questions, many questions.

My wife isn't quite ready to jump yet, but I am done with him.

Cheers,

Wintrman

It is such h a shame, it doesn't seem to matter what country you are in in the world, good medical treatment should be so hard to find. You would think the amount of money sloshing around in various medical schemes/practices/establishments we should be tripping over good medics. Alas not  Angry

Maybe you would be better off with a witch doctor  Whistle

Well, on Monday I am going to travel to Winnipeg to see an endocrinologist to talk about diabetes. Perhaps during our chat, if I ask, if she will have a friend that is a dermatologist she can refer me to. Can't hurt to ask?

Always smart to use the network of the persons you deal with. Makes a lot of sense. Have a good journey to Winnipeg.
Is it really so hot over there with you in Canada?
