Hope things improve.

Osteoarthritis...not fun at all.

I think birth till about teen years are the golden ones! So I agree, calling the later years the golden ones... who DID come up with that one!! So of course I had to look it up:

"This concept of retirement as an endless holiday, however, isn’t even as old as today’s retirees. The actual phrase “the golden years” was coined in 1959 in an advertising campaign for America’s first large-scale retirement community."

Itching. OMG! the itching! The freaking itching!!! Did I mention itching!!?? Even coconut oil didn't help. Aveeno didn't help. A bath with epsom salts didn't help! 3 other home remedies and one pharmaceuitical one didn't work and no end in site! Thank goodness I keep my nails short or I might not have any skin left on my body. Looks like I am in for a loooooong itching, stressful day.

Well, it's not the worst thing they've done so I'm okay with blaming them!

Oh wait, I'm American..... 91 I tend to forget that when I'm here. Wink

Well...here I am again to complain! Man, my face is taking a beating using only home remedies. Soooo crusty on my forehead, around my nose, in my ears, behind my ears around my bald head (about 30% coverage there), above my lips. My chest and stomach are getting worse. I can't wait for my appointment. With all the itching, I am seriously considering going through with using Duobrii. I know I have said I would not do steroids as treatment again, but seriously? I gotta find some relief somehow. It itches, it's painful and still 4.75 months until my appointment with the dermatologist I don't like and even then it's just an introductory appointment. Right at this moment, I would crawl into a tub filled with a steroid mix.

Can't wait to get the treatment underway. When I looked into the mirror this morning, I saw how ugly I am with all the redness and scaling. I was instantly depressed. Thoughts of, "How can people even look at me like this? How can they not feel grossed out? I am grossed out by my own looks! I looked in the mirror to see how much my mask hid on my face. It was worse. All you could see was red and scaling. Barely a square inch of clear skin.

I know I said how much clearer my skin looked since I cut out gluten, but man, psoriasis is coming back with a vengeance. I could almost cry.

And yes, Fred, you told me so! It would only work for a short time. Now reality is hitting back.

Welcome to my sucky day!

See if you can get some Enstilar foam *Not to be used on your face but you could use a little around your ears (Jim does) and it will certainly help your chest and stomach. A lot of us keep a can handy for a short term attack on psoriasis.

Could you wear a hat ? I'm just thinking if you wear a mask, a hat and some sunglasses it will make you feel a bit more at ease outside. Or grow a ZZ Top beard, they look so funny sticking out below a mask and you don't have time to notice the rest of the face.  Big Grin

Don't feel grossed out and think you are ugly, you seem like a decent bloke to me and not everyone judges the book by the cover. If anyone does judge you for the way you look then just tell them they could be next, you may be surprised to learn that a lot of people probably don't even notice you.

Most people are probably to busy with their everyday lives to notice you, if they are then they really should get a life.

Well, in Canada, Enstilar Foam is by prescription only. My pharmacist tells me that it's really just Dovobet ointment in a foam format and that is just what I got through using that was thinning my skin. I may have to suck it up and use Duobrii, in spite of my desire to not have steroids in my system.

You see, Fred, I have PTSD and right now that is going haywire! I am on so many pills it makes me sick! I take blood pressure pills. I have 2 diabetic meds. I have a pill that makes me pee alot. I have 3 antipsychotics in the morning, and 2 at night. I have 1 tab that makes me sleep hardcore so I don't have nightmares. On top of that, I take 1 supplement once a day, one supplement 3 times a day and one supplement twice a day. So with all that in the mix, you add steroids that  tend to make me more edgy, I don't know.

Guess I will have to talk to my doctor and see what happens.  Thanks for the kind words of support, btw, Fred. It's nice to see. I can't help how I feel. Actually, I AM the one who can help how I feel, but when I look in the mirror....I can only sit and stare, wondering how I will look and feel without the skin lesions and scales on my face. It's a long way off it seems, but I have to try something. The itching is growing worse each and every day it seems.

So, If I go on Duobrii and it works on the skin and the dermatologist looks at me and says, "You are doing well! I don't need to meet with you. Your skin is clearer than I thought." What then? And if my psoriasis on my skin eases up, does that mean I don't have to worry about what the psoriasis is doing to me in my organs??  I am sooooo confused.

And really....if I do go on Duobrii, will the doctors keep me on it for the recommended 8 weeks?? I mean, look at what they did with Dovobet ointment. The dirty so and so's kept me on that stuff for 4 years longer than I should have.

COME ON PEOPLE! I NEED/WANT FEEDBACK!! I NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO NEXT!!!!

Sorry for yelling.

I don't know how it works in Canada but if you were in UK I would say go to A&E.
