When I was on MTX I took the pills for 6 years at a weekly 25mg dose but I had lots of side effects such stomach cramps , headaches, sickness, galloping whatsits in fact I was in the loo that often I could make 100 words out of Armitage Shanks. When I went on to 20mg self injections most of the side effects went away apart from the headaches however over the next three years most of them came slowly back and I did not get any better than 80% clearage though it was OK for the PsA.
Where I live is great in the summer but in the winter the humidity is usually quite high and with the cold it is not a good combination ,we had sea fog this morning and it's only 1 degree C with a wind . I don't know if you do it in France but I do my own injection of the Stelara ,I am very lucky as in my area the derm dept is done at a private BUPA hospital by consultants who are also private, it's so different to the NHS.

Thank you Dave.

Were not near the sea but it has been very damp here this last few weeks, and we can get a lot of fog in the morning as it comes up from the valley and it does seem to make it worse.

Yes I do my own injections, and my dermatology is at one of the top training hospitals so I do get excellent service. Even the nurse comes to my house to do the blood test and I get the results the next day, so no faults there.  Thumb

I'm wondering if the last time I tried 90mg the zombie like feeling may have been down to something else, but I've been on it almost 5 years now so we will see at the weekend.

Watch this space.

Pharmacy phoned me and said the Stelara was in today, I thought it may not be in till Saturday or even Monday. Anyway I went and got it, and it's one shot at 90mg, last time I tried 90 it was in two shots at 45mg.

So I've taken the 90mg shot today, and decided to leave the anti inflammatories alone (probably wouldn't have taken the bloody things anyway) and will see what happens. It should be a good test as things are still much the same and I'm taking nothing else, apart from I did have 1000mg of paracetamol last night and probably will tonight to help get me comfortable in bed.

I'm still working very hard at the positive attitude and apart from that I'm not changing anything else, so here we go again maybe I should start Stelara Round Three (No just joking, I'll keep going with this one).

Thank you for reading.

Let's hope the increased dose will have the desired effect and it will kick in quickly and it won't have the Zombie effect ...
Looking forward to some positive news soon

Well I don't know if it's the Stelara though it does work quick, or me getting back in to positive mode. But this morning slightly better, not much and it is very damp today.
But I do feel a little bit better, so do I get another Kiss for my collection ?

Interesting Fred ,my last Stelara was only at the beginning of Jan and I still had 2 x 45mg ,maybe next time it will by 1 x90mg .
Glad it seems to be working OK .paracetamol does nothing for me I take Tramadol 2x 3 x a day it's the only thing that seems to work.
You must be one of the longest, timewise .people on Stelara if you have been on it 5 years Jim,I have only been on it just over 2 years. Dave

Yes I didn't know they made 90mg shot either, but it does make it easier than mucking about with two. I do have some Tramadol left over but I'm a stubborn old sod and if I can tough it out I will, the paracetamol doesn't do a lot but washed down with the last glass of Merlot before bed puts me in the placebo mode and it helps get me off to sleep.  Rolleyes

I must admit Fred merlot does help quite a bit though my favourite tipple is gin & tonic as long as there is not a lot of tonic.
By the way Fred still having problems with the e mail and I don't think that it will be until next week when I get it sorted.
