Sorry I haven't updated this post in awhile, but life has a way of sneaking up on me. These past months have been a bit rough.

I had my injection in May and again in August. I feel like I'm "stuck" as I haven't noticed any improvement these past months, but it's DEFINITELY better than it was back in December!

My dermatologist is more pleased than I am with the results so far, I still have redness and some scaling. The rheumatologist said it takes a year to get the full benefit so I'm only about half way there.

So far though, it has definitely helped!!

Hi Kat great to see you back  Bigarm sorry to read that the Stelara isn’t doing it for you, or at least you are not happy with the time it’s taking to work. I would think after seven months you would be clear, perhaps you could ask for the period betweeen shots be reduced.
Let’s hope the coming months are more pleasant for you and your Psoriasis clears completely ??

Hello Kat sorry things have been a bot rough for you.

Yes it is best to give it 1 year as long as it is helping. I don't recall if you are on 45 or 90 mg, but once you have a year under your belt it could be worth asking to increase to 90 if you are on 45. Or if you are on 90, it could be worth playing with the time between shots.

Hope life gets a bit better for you soon.

Bigarm

I think I'm on 90.  But I'd have to look at the paperwork to be sure.  I feel like I'm back to where I was before the flare up at the end of last year.  I've kept a picture diary so I'll add some pictures to this post soon.

hi Kat,

it took a long time for it to work for me too and I was worried it wouldn't work for me. See my journal; ArteMie's journey with Stelera to see how long it took me.
But now I'm almost clear, just a few spots that I can manage with on and off Enstillar.
And though I had the flu 5 times this year (....), I've been fit for over a month now, so maybe my system is adapting.

Thanks for the info Artemie! I see where you started adding some immune boosting remedies to help. I haven't had the cold or flu since starting stelara. I have had a persistent staph infection, but hopefully this last round of antibiotics will take care of it.

I'm only at 6 months and I'm much improved, but I really would love to be totally clear (well, wouldn't we all!) and so I'm still hopeful.

Hi Kat,

It looks better than it was in the last image I saw, but I understand your sentiment. I still get stuff behind my ears. It is very annoying. I hope you get more improvement soon.

Cheers

It is a devil of a spot to get it. I use my topical. It covers the area for a long time, but the fumes from the stuff irritate my eyes and the smell gives me a headache. I really don't know what I'd rather put up with.

Cheers

Thanks Bill

I've never reached totally clear behind my ears and yes it's an annoying area!

I am using Enstillar now behind and in my ears also on the odd patch that the Stelara is not working on and I am almost clear. Could not shift it especially around the ears but now it's great.
