I've been put on MTX on Monday so am new to the drug. But reading how people like/dislike is a bit worrying but I suppose people react to different things. So fingers crossed my body likes it and it relieves pain x

Indeed Dawn, Krissie is very positive and e.g. I am very negative. Furthermore investigation shows that it seems to do nothing for PsA.
Anyway listen very carefully to the signals of your body.

According to my dermatologist, MTX may reduce symptoms in the hands and feet for PsA, but is worthless for everything else. He does not recommend it. The current research back this claim up.

Dawn I suggest you click the Search Button (which is only available to logged-in members) type in methotrexate in the search by keyword box, leave the rest as it is, scroll down and click the search button. You will get 5 pages of threads that mention Methotrexate, and you will find good things and bad things about it but it will give you a lot of information.

At the end of the day it's your body and what works for some may not work for others. Have a look at the  Methotrexate thread to get the basics, make sure you are having regular check-ups, use only as you have been prescribed, and report any side affects to your GP/Dermatologist.

Sometimes others comments can seem worrying, but that's what is good about Psoriasis Club we are just people with psoriasis giving our personal unbiased opinion of a treatment, and who knows you may join the ranks of the Methotrexate positives and start a new thread telling others how good it was for you. Smile

Hello Wave I'm sure I will see how my body reacts to it. I've felt slightly tired but that could be because I've been working hard. I take my next dose tomorrow (Monday) which will be my second one. I don't expect much from it but something would be nice xx
