Welcome to forum! I would suggest, as others, to read as much as can about your condition. Make sure your tell your doctor about every little detail, it might make a difference in medication that is prescribed.

Hey Jim,
Be gentle (man)NoNo, Very Psor first has to get a bit acquainted to the habits of the forum and to the positive thoughts that always behind it. Get to feel that she is welcome, and that we also make little jokes about our condition, no matter the seriousness of the illness.

Hi Fred, thank you for the warm (and very sensible) welcome Smile - I have been learning a lot from the threads which I think will be useful on Friday.

The antibiotics were prescribed to contain the infection on my leg, and the antihistamines were meant to help with the itching. Neither seem to have worked :(

The one thing I have found temporarily soothing is Epaderm ... at first it was difficult to use, as the texture is very thick/firm. But it can be used in the bath by mixing with boiling water and (carefully) shaking before adding to the bathwater; and as an emollient by popping it on the radiator for 10-15 minutes to soften it (makes it easier/less painful to apply).

I am planning to make some changes to my diet and start drinking water in between the copious cups of tea (I find drinking water hard work! - but will persevere).

Thanks again for the welcome and the advice, it's greatly appreciated ! Smile

Yes that's why I asked, they wouldn't help in my opinion.

Water is very good, and like you I find it difficult especially in the winter. Try adding a little syrup there are lots of flavours, but keep an eye in the ingredients as some contain a lot of sugar. NoNo I also sometimes switch from still to fizzy. If you check out the Natural Treatments For Psoriasis board you will find some mention of foods that can help, that is if you can stick to it. Just popped in to say hello and welcome Very Psor!
Fred mentioned 'syrup' which is squash/cordial over here, but you probably guessed that.
Good luck at the dermo on Friday. I also have an appointment in the afternoon so will be thinking of you too. I hope you feel more comfortable very soon Bigarm

Ooh so I did, that's my Franglais coming into play. Big Grin

It's called Sirop here, but I had forgotten what it was called in the UK. So I tried to make it sound Englishish. Doh
