Just curious really. I don't believe it's disrespectful to use adult language in an adult environment, or to use words that are allowable on basic cable. And no, I don't mind reading curse words at all - they're just words. I don't, like, have a list of words I'm planning to use or anything, just didn't want to get off on the wrong foot since there wasn't a rule list posted. I don't swear just for the sake of it! Thanks for the specific guidance Fred.

You're welcome, I don't like to fill the place up with rules hence you won't find many.

We all have views on what is regarded as offensive language, me I can swear like a trooper but I tone myself down in some environments so as not to offend others.
(And certainly not in front of my Mother, she would soon give me one of these) whack

I personally think if one was having a good old grumble about how they were feeling whilst having a flare up with psoriasis and was to write f**k or fook, I don't think many would have a problem. Using the actual word though I would edit on the public boards and in some off topic threads, I would also think having the word three or four times in one post or constantly in every post would be a bit much even with ***

I don't get the impression that you want to spam the place with bad language so carry on as you seem fit, I will soon contact you if there is a problem.

And thank you for at least asking.  Thumb

That's because in the USA they Curse, but in English we Swear.

The reason being that to Curse in English is like you sticking pins in an image of Jim and that is not good. Oh go on stick another one in he's not looking.  Big Grin

But as for you lot dancing in the Tulips I don't have a ^&*%%$&*_) Clue as it's all Double Dutch to me.

Welcome! Yes, this is a really great place to find out all sorts of information and members are all quite willing to share and express their opinions. Fred does a great job of keeping this place friendly for all without having to list a ton of rules. Personally, and that's all it is, I think there is cursing where words are used to show how strongly one feels and there is cursing just for the heck of it. My husband was in the military for years, so I've known quite a few people who cursed just because it had become part of the words they used daily. So again, personally, I have no problem with it but since some do, I think in places where their are many people to consider it's just good etiquette to keep it toned down. As others have said, the member's forums are a bit more open to expression since the public forums are more for information.

Happy to see you here!

I had to chime in!
I know I am late to the party.
Well, at home I cuss like a truck driver at a sailors convention.
Although I try to respect the fact that not everyone finds it acceptable.
So I'll curb my tongue here.
For me the f-word is a multi purpose punctuation mark.
And when I talk about my psoriasis, the bad word just seems to fit.
I just hate it so ####### much! Tongue
