My wife is a Taurus as well Fred and she is a stubborn sod at times !!
I buy her all little treats such as getting the Dyson serviced and I even got her a new hose for it but there you a typical Taurus no thanks at all.

Just thought I would add one final update to this thread.

It's now been one week without the Poison Methotrexate and all is well, this episode has done two things for me.

#1 Assured me I was right all along Methotrexate is a poison and should not be given to us poor buggers with psoriasis especially when there are other treatments just as good and in many case better, hell we are supposed to get a better quality of life with a treatment not made to feel like a zombie feeling sick all the time, wondering around with a severe headache, and putting up with those awful mood swings where you start blaming those close to you.

#2 It has reminded me the power of keeping a positive attitude. This isn't always easy but even just finding one teeny weeny piece of positive can have amazing results on ones well being, for example instead of watching the news on TV and thinking how awful the world is turn the bloody thing over and watch a bit of Tom and Jerry. Or when you suddenly realise you are talking in a negative tone, stop and take time out, sit quietly, calm down, and reflect about the situation. Can you talk about the same subject but in a more positive tone? if not then stop the conversation and move on.

My psoriasis score is still only on 2, I can't say for certain that the positive mood has helped that as Stelara has always given me a low score. But the psoriatic score is now down to 8 Yes Eight that can only be down to the positive attitude there is no other reason, well if there is it certainly isn't the methotrexate making it go down is it?

Will I ever take methotrexate again? NO I have it firmly planted in my head now and even if they told me I will die in a couple of weeks without it they can stick it, I would rather go and get drunk for two weeks than go through that just to gain a bit longer.

Please note this is only my own opinion and my experience, methotrexate can offer help to people and it can work but my advice would be "Watch out for those side effects and ask yourself are they better than the psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis, or could something else be better or could you even pull yourself out of a rut?"

It feels so good being free of that Poison, it's done me good in that it reminded me I Don't Need It and I can do more myself to make my life better rather than fall back down there.

*Two weeks ago my psoriasis score was 42 it's now 8, methotrexate No Thanks. sick

Great stuff
I know Methotrexate made me feel awful and reading of your experience this time has reinforced my dislike of it and reminded me of my time on it...

Glad things are on the up... I hope you can continue to stay positive  Thumb and Continue to improve .,
Just one question .... Are you off alcohol now? If not there's a celebratory drink waiting in the bar for you cheers

Thank you Jim.

No I'm not off alcohol, but I have cut back. I tried a couple of different ways of doing it, first by drinking a bit less but that didn't work. Then I tried missing a day, that seemed a better way to go though it did seem a bit boring.

So last week I tried going without Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and by the time Friday came for some reason I only had about two thirds of my normal intake, Saturday was back to the usual few buckets and Sunday just a couple of beers.

It was an ok week and I'm down to 91 kg so I'm going to do the same this week and see how it goes.

Anyway it's to early for a drink for me at the moment, but thanks anyway.
