Hello all. I am new to this site and just wanted to introduce myself. I've been a fellow sufferer for 25 years and wish I had looked for a support forum like this right back then.  For most of those years I have suffered mostly alone with this disease, endured all the negative emotional side effects that tag themselves on (and still do) and often felt completely isolated from 'normal' people around me.

I've had so many treatments - like so many of you on here I've no doubt! Finally, it would appear that my condition is being taken seriously and I have recently been prescribed Fumaderm  Smile. It's very early days - just 3 weeks - so too soon to benefit from results, and I'm enduring the side effects but I'm very optimistic about this one!

I'd like now to use the the benefits of my journey to encourage fellow sufferers how not to do it! Not to isolate themselves, but to stand firm in getting the right treatment, not lose as many years as I have having to wait to be offered, and never once being made aware of the range of treatments out there that can offer the quality of life we all deserve.

And if there are any Fumaderm users out there that would like to share their experiences I'd be very keen to listen!

That's it from me for now  Tongue.

Hello Fleurgiddy  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

We have a lot of information and members using Fumaderm and DMF you will soon hear from them.

Yes it is a horrible life going through it alone, but now you have found us you will find a friendly group of people using a wide variety of treatments. We have no interest in the money side and will never have advertising, sponsorship, or ask for donations, we're just people living with psoriasis.

Please feel free to start a thread in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis about your journey using Fumaderm. We encourage our members to have their own thread that they can update as they go, it will give you something to look back on but it may also help others too.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi fleurgiddy Welcome to the forum you will find several members on here on fumaderm including myself and yes three weeks is early but I'm glad you are enduring the side effects, I can assure you as the treatment goes on it does get easier, or it did for me

Yes a place like this is a godsend to us sufferers as we can support each other through the bad times and enjoy the company of fellow sufferers even when clear

If you have any questions or are unsure of anything don't hesitate to ask

Hello both, thank you for making me feel welcome  Wave. I shall start a thread, kind of like keeping a diary of my journey! I really appreciate knowing I have support and hopefully will be able to offer the same myself.

I'll take a look at the Fumaderm posts, I've heard so many positive things so far so I will stick with it, the alternative is much worse!!!

Thank you  Thumb

Yes that's it. Thumb

Obviously it is in the public eye so only put what you are comfortable with. Or if you prefer once you have made 10 posts you can use the members only journals.

I have found mine to be very useful for going back over the years to check on something, and a lot of people have also told me it has been helpful to them too. Stelara round two

If you look through Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis you will find others have their own threads too. Bill has one but his is not in prescribed though it is worth a read Bill's pure dimethylfumarate thread

And like I said there are others, but they are for members with over 10 posts only.

Hi and welcome to the forum, you will find that we know what all the problems are as we have all gone through them. I agree with you in that you need to take a firm stance and insist that you get the treatment that you need and are entitled to .
Have a good look around and ask any questions you can think off as somebody on here will more than likely have an answer based on experience not theory. Welcome to the nuthouse and watch out for the inmates !!!
