I am new and not really sure how to work this site yet. I am looking to see what treatments people are using to get some help as I am at my wits end x

Have you seen a dermatologist, or just a GP ?
Because if you are at your wits end a dermatologist is going to be your best bet for relief
But do as Fred said and read up on treatments here and ask away ...you will always get help here Thumb

Thank you for your reply.

I am glad I found this forum because I am at my wits end. I am in agony and nothing seems to work. I have tried everything but to no avail. I am currently sitting here covered in this acid stuff which is meant to lift the scales but that isn't even working. X

I'm sorry it's not working for you, it's messy, smelly and obviously not working for you, you say you are in agony is it the cream that's causing the pain or splits in your skin ?

If it's the ointment or cream that's hurting (burning) I would wash it off and get a good quality coconut oil to keep things moist....
Then get on to your doctor or dermatologist and ask for a different treatment, one of the first things will probably be methotrexate ...not a drug I like but it cleared my skin and could do the same for you

It's the splits in my skin that's sore there bleeding constantly and are very thick. I try my hardest to keep it moist but it's an impossible job. I also have had the maximum amount of ultra violet treatment twice but not even that helped x

I'm not telling you what to do its up to you .... But in your position I would phone the dermatology department that prescribed the gunk to you .(weep down the phone) tell them the truth that you are desperate for some relief. Tell them you can't cope ( lay it on thick) although I don't think you need to you are obviously in distress
But ask for something different even a steroid cream to calm the plaques down while waiting for tablets to take effect...I would ask for acetretin as it might work quicker than methotrexate
See these links

Acitretin

Methotrexate

That's what I would do and if they say they have no appointments ....present yourself to A&E and tell them you're at your wits end

I'm afraid many doctors don't take this disease seriously enough and treat it as a minor ailment ....grrrrrrr

My doctor is the same. I can't just phone dermatologist I have to be referred again a think. I have asked for tablets or injection but was fobbed off. I think it's because I am not covered but the areas I have it are really thick and go into large hacks. And I really appreciate your advice.

Thank you kindly
