On the psoriasis front, Caroline, I have had a very easy break from the drug. A little more stiffness in my spine, feet and achilles tendons a bit sore on waking, but otherwise not much. There is lots of sun here and I am in the water every day, so that helps greatly. What is there to stop people in the Netherlands from doing what I do, besides their sanity? I had no trouble importing 25kg from China, and if it ever stops working for me, which I very much doubt, my little ardenium is doing nicely, so I have at least one other use for the stuff. Big Grin

Great Bill.
So this also gives arsenalfan a positive foresight into the future. If DMF works for him than it may work for very long.
Let’s wait for his updates, as this is his thread and we are going off topic Big Grin Wave

Just have a quick question although I'm not sure how to word this without sounding like an idiot but here goes: how does the dosing with Fumaderm work? By that I mean even from the very start when you are only taking 1 initial tablet a day, is this all working up the levels of fumaderm in your body and having an affect in your system (towards the desired goal of clear skin) or is it just pretty much flushing through very quickly and these initial tablets (even when you are on 3 a day) are just basically a test to see how your body reacts to the stuff before you move on to the full tablets, which is also the point enough of it is entering your system to start working?

Basically in a sentence I mean are the levels of fumaderm building in my body right now during these initials or are they just a precautionary test to see how I react to the ingredients?

I'm not getting impatient for results, I know it can be a while, I'm genuinely just curious.

Anyway, while I'm here a quick update on where I'm at. Half way through week 2 of the initials (2 a day) and all is going okay. Still zero side effects in terms of stomach troubles or flushing, and the headaches I mentioned previously, if they were anything to do with the fumaderm anyway, seem to have settled too...

No it has nothing to do with a test, as you never know if and when it will start to work, that is different for everyone.
The slow build up is essential in order to keep an eye on the values of your lymphocytes and to learn your body to get used to the DMF slowly. That is also different with people.

Basically it is like below scheme. This is the same scheme as with Psorinovo. Bill is using a totally different scheme, but you can later on experiment with that. The height in the scheme represents the dosage.

There are three phases that all should take about as long in time, the building up phase continues until you see or feel that something is changing in your Psoriasis. From that moment you enter the plateau phase, you don’t up the dose anymore but just consolidate and the Psoriasis has the chance to go away. After this phase, which is about as long as the build up phase, you start lowering the dose again. You continue lowering until you feel the Psoriasis coming back again and then you up one dose again. That should be the dose you can continue on.
If you stabilise then you can later on go intermittent, that means that you give your body a rest in the weekends. This is good for your lymphocytes and it prevents the building up of antibodies in your body so the DMF stays working.
Bill for instance is on a totally intermittent scenario, but he uses the pure DMF. Fumaderm is a combination preparate with other stuff in it.

It can be that your derm has a slightly different view, but it will finally come down to something like this. You can always discuss.

Hi there's no such thing as a daft question ...if it's on your mind it's a good question  Thumb

I see Caroline has answered your question .

I'm glad that the headaches have stopped and have no other side effects ...hopefully as you increase the dose you will see some improvements soon

DMF breaks down very quickly, detectable for around 10 hours max in your body I think. It is very active while it is around, and its effects are more long lived. The build up is simply to get you used to the drug and to work out an effective dose for you.

Cheers

Thanks for the response guys.

Jiml, getting my bloods done today. I want a copy of the results like you, do I ask the nurse at the hospital or my dermatologist when I see her?

I would ask either of them they can easily print them off for you ... tell them you want to keep a record on a forum for looking back on.

Hello! Yeah I'm on 3 of the initial tablets a day and have been since Thursday. No change in my skin yet but I've also had no side effects either. Last day tomorrow of the initials and then it's on to 1 full strength tablet a day. I'm expecting that is when the side effects will arrive and hopefully not too long after, my skin will start to improve too..
