Your dermatologist should be concerned about thinning the skin. My flare is now under control, but it took almost a year. My dermatologist was very quick in switching me once a systemic didn't seem to work out because she wanted me to stop the topicals because of thinning skin. Any topical with steroids should show signs of working within 4 weeks, otherwise, you are just trying to keep some of the symptoms at bay.

Hi Duncan welcome to the club, we are all in the same boat on here so any questions you ask will be answered by people with the problem and experience of the problem not theory as some doctors etc ,in fact collectively there are many years of experience of the problem at ground zero . I agree with the statement about thinning skin with some of the treatments they are to be avoided and after many years with the problem myself and after just about every treatment known to man I can tell you that the new biologic approach that has come in in the last few years is a life saver . All the best Duncan, by the way the information on here is the most comprehensive that I have found with no adverts or con artists trying to push miracle cures.
