Hi Kat, to answer your question, its a little hard to say how long it took to clear on Fumaderm last time as i did an extremely slow build up on the initial tablets and ended getting full clearance on about 4 initial tablets a day.

I'll keep you all updated anyway and let you know when it starts to work. Fingers crossed it starts soon as we're going to Florida in May!

Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

Good luck, but I don't see how Skilarence is going to work any better than Fumaderm.

I'm happy to stand corrected from the DMF Gang, but are they not the same thing ?

No!  NoNo They are different.

But Skilarence is not any better than Fumaderm, the expectance is that it will work equally well.

What is the difference then?
Well Fumaderm is a compound of DMF and MEF (Mono Ethyl Fumarate).
Skilarence is only DMF, with some filling stuff.

The fact that Skilarence is missing MEF does make it safer for your kidneys and liver.
MEF is a toxic agent, and if you are vulnarable for it, it can have a negative influence on kidney and liver. Futhermore MEF does literally nothing against your Psoriasis as has been shown in the reseach of Nicolle Litjens in 2004.
Basically seen MEF is a senseless addition to Fumaderm.

So it is good that now Skilarence is there, and it does not contain MEF anymore.

This was, by the way, already known to dr. Schweckendieck, the man who has first been working with DMF long time ago.

Fumaderm worked well for OBI  last time but had to stop, they have now started on skilarence and is hoping for the same result in clearance ...the reason OBI. is not going on fumaderm is because it's not a licensed drug whereas skilarence is licenced for prescribing in the uk

Thank you Jim I forgot about that.

Sorry to hijack your thread OBI but I just felt it could help others to try and clarify the difference. Let me know if you want some posts removed.

Quick update for you.

After two days on full strength Skilarence I have had my very first episode of stomach cramps. It woke me at 1am and lasted a solid hour. I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't keen. It now worries me about taking them because the pain was so bad!

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to reduce the chance of getting them again? I'm hoping it was a simple case of not eating enough last night.

I knew my luck would probably run out some day.
