I would like to understand when i will see my skin without these little red spots Angry
From today 5x120 mg.
Problably i will need full dosage and other weeks to see results or maybe this drug does not work for me.
Normally i'm positive but today i was a little bit frustrated.

Fingers crossed Wave

I can understand your frustration at its slowness of working Marco but don't give up on it yet
The fact you are getting the flushes shows the drug is working on your body ...but it can be very slow to kick in and give you clearance ....But I will say when it works it just keeps on working for long periods like me for 7 years
The drug has a 70% success rate and from what I understand the 30% that drop out mainly do because of adverse side effects not through lack of efficacy
So give it a few more weeks before you make a decision and hopefully by your next dermatology visit it will be starting to clear

Can understand you being not satisfied. But it really is a slow burner. I myself needed six tablets, before it started working and before I could reduce again.
I now a number of people in the Netherlands who had to go to 8 or even 12 tablets for the first results.
The max dose of Skilarence is an illusionary limit, dictated by the older Fumaderm which had this limit because of the MEF that was in it.
Almost all dermatologists think this is the max. (It is difficult to think outside of your boundaries)
Almirall did not research the higher doses. Which is a bit logical as most people will have too much cramps with the higher doses.
With a controlled release version you can go much higher.

It is a strange drug, Marco. I have tried many doses (240mg, 360mg, 430mg, 530mg, 630mg, 830mg, 1000mg, 1200mg) with varying success over the years. I am currently taking 430mg three times a week, which seems to work quite well and causes me very little tummy upset. The reason I think it strange is that it seems to work better now than when I first started taking it. I agree with Caroline that the drug could work better with a different formulation and a different approach to dosing, but I can well understand the desire of dermatologists to stick to the guidelines.

Cheers

This morning i spoke with my Dermatologist and he said to finish the box of 90 pills ( week 9-10-11 ) and about 23th september we will have a meeting where we will decide if Skilarence is good for me or not.
He told me that he probably will consider an alternative treatment for me.
Blood test 18th september.
At this point i'm a little bit confused.
What else i could take ? Kyntheum ?
I dont have psoriatic arthritis.

That's all for now Sleep

That's a shame that you may have to give it up. It is a slow working drug and I'm  hoping by the time of the meeting you will be noticing an improvement. I can understand wanting a quick fix but if it's started by the meeting do try to stick with it as it's such a good drug if it works, however if there's no improvement by your next meeting you should start thinking of the next step
I see fred has given you links to available treatments for you
I wish you good luck and clear skin for the future  Thumb

The blood test results that i did yesterday say : lymphocytes 2,3. In august i had 2,0. Blood count with formula all perfect. My main problem is high ferritin , only that.
Probably skilarence does not work for me.
After 2 months the results on my skin , arms and legs are not so exciting.
Monday i will call the Dermatologist and He will tell me what to do.

I will let you know Wave
