Well, my brother was taken out of the ICU an hour ago. They took a little extra time to help him recover and manage the pain better. He is somewhat alert due to meds, but is said to be in good spirit. When I visited him on Sunday, there were all kinds of signs he wasn't on top of his game. He wouldn't respond to his name a couple times. Even when I gently touched him to give him another way to sense that I wanted his attention, he didn't stop cutting his meat on his plate. It wasn't until his daughter raised her voice quite a bit, that he came back to us and responded. I knew then, we had a hard road ahead. When we parted ways, he almost broke down in tears, which told me volumes about how he was truly feeling. And he so appreciated me telling him I loved him, which we didn't do near often enough in recent years. Now, that one time, spoke volumes and left me with many regrets.

Anyways, step 1 is done. Now we wait to see if he remains in hospital until the results of the tissue samples come back. Frankly, I hope they do keep him in. As it is, he is in a wheel chair for his own safety. I dread to think what might happen if he returned home to so many different stair cases to navigate for him. What if he tunes out while going up or down the stairs and collapses. His potential for harm is sooooo great!

Signing off for now,

A deeply concerned Brother.

Winterman, I really don't know what to say. Just caught up with this thread and I feel for you. It is so difficult having to watch from the side lines when such a close relative is is in so much difficulty. I'm sure the medics will do their absolute best for your brother.

You will all be in my thoughts.

I'm with you with regards to these selfish Covidiots that have refused the vaccine (for any reason other than legit medical reason) clogging the Hospitals, I'd leave em all in beds in a tent outside the Hospital and keep the Hospitals clear for those that need it.

You are much kinder with your words than I would have been. Thanks for your kind words.

Oh, JohnB and Wintrman, I feel just the same regarding those who won't be vaccinated by choice.   And now I have a new name for them, learned here--covidiots.  Angry

Wintrman, you are such a kind, caring brother.  You are sensitive and intuitive, which are both such good, good and not-so-common qualities.  I'm so very sorry your brother is in the holds of a possible brain cancer.  I hope that the results will come back otherwise.  I hope that your brother's tumor is not cancerous.

We cannot reach adulthood without some regret, some remorse.  It is part of being a caring person.

Priority for ICU beds should be given to other patients, NOT covidiots  Angry

I hope he improves with time and that they don't discharge him too soon.....I find they have a tendency to do that unfortunately  Confused

Did they say how long it would take to get the results?

Sending positive vibes  Bigarm

For test results, we are waiting about 2 weeks. With todays technology, one might think it would be faster, but I am not the guy analyzing everything. So I shall wait like everyone else, KatT!

With folks here sending prayers/good vibes and a few prayer warriors who are friends of mine, I remain hopeful. My faith in God and belief in His miracles, brings me comfort in my time of needs.

May God bless him, give him strength and good health as he makes his journey to recovery. Can we get an AMEN??

So...psoriasis is progressing. It's even started in a new place...between my fingers! What a freaking awful place to get it. Soooo itchy! Using Aveeno hand cream for the moment. Started off at home with Gold Bond. Still an itch. Dammit!! In addition to that, psoriasis is covering about 80% of my left ear. It hurts and it itches and I am slooooowly going nuts!!  Sad

On another front, my bro went home from the hospital. I am concerned because what if he mentally blanks out while going upstairs to or downstairs from the bathroom or bedroom? Will he be able to hold himself up during that mental break?? But, I am happy otherwise. He is home, with his wife. He will get to eat decent food and sleep in his own bed, so life is better. I am sure his wife was briefed on wound management and pain management so she can make sure he does these things properly.

Thanks to all of you who sent positive vibes in whatever form you used. ALL of it was a help, I believe and for that I will always be thankful. Continued good vibes will most certainly be appreciated. Taking the time out of your day to send those vibes, is a most gracious gesture. One that is so very much appreciated.

Since I have arrived, you all have been so patient with me in teaching me all the ways this site works. You guys have been kind, gracious and generous in support of my journey. On days like today, I realize just how wonderful that support has been for me, being on the receiving end of things. You guys are awesome and a welcome part of my life. I am thankful I found this site.

That's a shame the psoriasis is spreading wintrman, no doubt a lot to do with the stress you're under with your brother's condition . Let's hope that he progresses well and there's a very happy outcome  Bigarm

What would be nice wintrman would be you maybe starting a thread in [Group Specific] so it would be easier for us to follow your brother's progress without us clogging up your psoriasis thread (just a thought ) but more likely to be seen by more members
