Welcome Yvon!

MTX is also the first drug of choice in the U.S. but they seem to be getting away from that a bit with some insurance companies here. I have never been on it however I have a brother in law who has had great results and wouldn't dream of changing so sometimes it is just a matter of finding what works.

I hope you have good results and if not, that you can find the treatment that works best for you. You have quite the history and it's past time you were able to get some relief! Good luck and looking forward to hearing how things go.

Hi Yvon

Welcome to the psoriasis club!

I started on MTX.  No side effects, worked wonders for my psoriasis.  Unfortunately, it did nothing for my PSA.

I hope it works for you with no side effects  Smile

Thanks everyone for your warm welcome! Makes me feel good!

To come back to the conversation I will have with my rheumatologist about the Mtx.
thank you for the input Caroline.

I must explain that I chose my rheumatologist because of his expertise in PsA. If it needs to be ruled out or diagnosed, then by someone who understands Psa. Thats why i went to him.

But he also has a kind of lecture on youtube about how difficult it is to diagnose PsA, how patients walk around for a long time without a correct diagnosis with all the consequences that entails.
And in this video he says that they do not know what Mtx does for Psa and that they are now experimenting with other medications.

So if he says that himself, why put me on the MTX? Fair question I think. I wonder what his reaction is. I will let you know his awnsers.

And if i have learned some things from al the years hospital in and out, is to stand up for yourself. And i will.

Again, thanks everyone for the support!.

Very interesting Yvon.
Indeed very strange if his vision in his lecture diverts from his handling.

I have heard something about a research group in Amsterdam who are working with a specific type of scan to look at the joints and so be able to see if Psa is going on..

Will watch your progress over here.
